the image on the website (here at homedepot.com) has a square shower head, but all of the images from recent customer purchases and at anzzi.com show a circle head. Which would I be getting if ordered? I need to know what to expect.

the actual shower head is circular not the square one pictured

How much water pressure do you need to run the shower head properly?

Asked by: CW
It's about water volume as well as water pressure. Example my 1960's home says I have "average" water pressure, but as soon as any water flow through (say to a sink or something) it doesn't have enough volume. I.e. even if you have 80 psi (max) that 80 psi can be cut in half if ran to two different components at the same time. (water/sink) can be cut into thirds if three items, etc. To put simply, i'd say the more the better. Generally if you are in a newer development (say last 20 years) you are likely fine. Anything past that is unknown.

How do you clean it?

Asked by: Deb
Hi Deb I have been using this body shower panel every day for about a year. I simply wipe it down and dry it with my bath towel after each use, just as I do our shower doors. It still looks the same as when it was new. The glass panel is easy to keep clean and the finish on the hardware seems to be very durable. So far no water spots. I hope this helps.

Melody 59 in. 6-Jetted Full Body Shower Panel System with Heavy Rain Shower and Spray Wand in Black Deco-Glass is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 12.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from I would warn against this product My wife and I purchased an Anzzi shower panel similar to this one and shortly after install it began to spray water from the back at the Plastic elbows. We contacted SWCorp and after much effort were sent this model. We were advised they were of the same specs and compatible, they were not but we hooked it up anyway. Immediately the replacement began to spray water out the back and from where the shower head meets the glass. I tried to contact SWCorp with numerous emails to remedy the issue but they will not respond to my emails. Now I have to break through a finished wall to install a different shower system. I would strongly discourage against the purchase of this product. All the internal parts are made of plastic and fail.

First off since I am a amateur DIY person I did need to hire a plumber to install. A little more complicated for me, not because of the shower column but how my plumbing was set up However the shower is great. The pressure is tremendous from both the overhead shower and the hand held shower. The 6 body sprays work well and deliver average pressure. The instructions were good and easy to follow to assemble. I am very impressed with the look as the black finish and chrome go very well together and give a very modern look. The temperature controls were far more accurate in temp then my old controls. The value is excellent as I have seen the same type unit for over a thousand dollars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive & Functional A Pleasure to Use The ANZZI Melody 59 in. 6-Jetted Full Body Shower Column with Heavy Rain Shower and Spray Wand is a pleasure for us to own and to use. It arrived well packed and had a total shipping weight of about 24 lbs. It is attractive and functional. What we like best is the large rain shower head. It puts out a full column of water and it is fully adjustable. The same goes for the hand held sprayer, it puts out so much water and so evenly that our old hand held shower does not compare. The temperature control it is better and more effective than our old single leaver mixer valve. The shower gets hot quicker than before and I am sure that is because it has a much higher flow rate. The glass panel is easy to clean and should look good for a long time. After getting a few bids from plumbers I decided to do the install myself. I was replacing a typical single head shower with a single leaver mixer valve and all sweated copper pipe. The shower stall is in excellent condition and backed up to a closet so I cut a 14 in. X 14 in access from the back side. I used an oscillating multi tool saw to cut the pipes from the old valve. After cleaning up the copper pipe with sandpaper I then installed 1/2 in. nominal compression inlet x 3/8 in. o.d. compression outlet quarter turn straight valve directly to the ½ in. copper pipe. The hoses supplied with the unit are only 12” long and would not reach my access point so I replaced them with 3/8 in. compression x 1/2 in. fip x 36 in. faucet hoses. The total DIY install took me about 4 hours and cost me about $55 in parts. I have provided some photos and a short video I hope they help.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wonderfully Refreshing Spa Like Experience !!! The Anzzi Melody Shower Panel delivers an extremely relaxing, full shower of water that’s like a waterfall covering you. The shear amount of water coming out of the overhead shower is something I’ve never experienced. When Anzzi stated that “…The swiveling Heavy Rain shower head hangs overhead releasing a steady torrent of soothing water from above”, they weren’t kidding! There’s a LOT of steady water coming out of the overhead shower head…Surprisingly so. Initial Observation: Unpacking the Shower Panel and its associated parts, I discovered everything was very well packaged resulting in no damage whatsoever. When I saw the way the hot and cold water lines would need to be connected, I knew I had somewhat of a project on my hands. My shower is a walk-in, tiled shower. As such, my existing water control valve is behind the wall tiles, and all my water lines utilize PEX tubing. So, not only did I need to figure out how to remove my existing control valve without removing any wall tiles, I also needed to devise a method to connect my existing hot and cold PEX lines into CPVC which is something I could easily work with. I have no tools to work with PEX lines, nor did I want to invest in the bands, and crimpers for a one-time project. The other thing I noticed after doing several dry run placements of the Shower Panel to find a comfortable height, was the supplied 16-inch braided supply hoses for the hot and cold water were going to be way too short. I determined that I was going to need those hoses to be at least 36-inches in length. The only place I was able to find hoses in this length, in braided stainless steel and have good quality was through an online plumbing supply company. Formulating My List: After a good deal of online research, I managed to put together a list of materials necessary for me to install this Shower Panel. With the exception of the 2 water supply lines, I was able to purchase everything needed from my Home Depot store. The following is what I put together: (2) SharkBite ½ in. Brass Push-to-Connect Couplings. This enabled me to connect a CPVC and PEX line together. http://tinyurl.com/lswyazw ½ in. x 10 ft. CPVC pipe. http://tinyurl.com/j3orfu7 (2) ½ in. CPVC 90-Degree S x FIPT Drop Elbow. This is used to run the final CPVC line into and enable me to provide a connection for the Shower Panel’s 2 water supply lines. http://tinyurl.com/jhgsfl9 (2) ½ in. Brass Hex Nipple. This nipple screwed into the end of the 90-Degree elbows to enable the hot and cold water supply lines of the Shower Panel to screw into. http://tinyurl.com/z6lm39e GE Silicone II 10.1 oz. Clear Window and Door Caulk. This is a Neutral Cure Silicone necessary when caulking against metal. Ordinary silicone will eventually corrode metal. http://tinyurl.com/gmzhv7e Teflon Tape. Used to provide your screw-in fittings a water tight seal. http://tinyurl.com/jfb749s HDX Ratcheting PVC Cutter. Contrary to the reviews of this item, I encountered zero issues using this cutter. http://tinyurl.com/j6nth9m 8 oz. PVC Handy Pack Purple Primer and Solvent Cement. Used to prime and cement the PVC lines and fittings. http://tinyurl.com/glebl37 Installation: The provided instructions are simple to say the least. What the instructions don’t tell you are the measurements necessary to drill and install the 2 mounting brackets. It would have been a huge time saver had Anzzi included a simple paper Template for the brackets and holes. I ended up cutting the top of the box the Shower Panel came in to use as a template. I slid this cardboard under the cross braces on the back of the Shower Panel. I was then able to transfer over the hole for the overhead shower arm, and the indents for the two mounting brackets unto this cardboard. I then squared and leveled this template up against the shower wall, tape it and mark my 4 holes to drill. I ended up cutting a section out of the wall opposite the wall the shower was on to access the existing water control valve. This was my only option to remove this valve. After cutting the water control valve out, I was able to connect the CPVC lines and fittings using the materials listed within my List. After leak checking all my connections, I found one slight drip on one screw-in fitting. I was able to fix this simply by removing and adding more Teflon tape to that fitting. My plans are to do a final leak check, then patch finishing the access hole I made, and adding caulk around the sides of the Shower Panel. One word on the caulk…From what I’ve read, ordinary silicone caulk / adhesive when used against a metal surface will eventually inhibit corrosion due to the acidity of the silicone. To prevent this, you need to use what’s called a “Neutral Cure” silicone which doesn’t have the acidic qualities of standard silicone. The one I’ve identified within my List is the only one I’ve been able to find at Home Depot. Final Thoughts: What I don’t like about this Shower Panel: The provided 16 in. braided stainless steel water supply lines were too short. Granted, this was my situation however, being only 16 in. in length is pushing it a bit to afford the average homeowner the slack and routing necessary to make a reliable connection. The (4) screws provided for the 2 mounting plates are shiny, cheap, nickle plated steel and not stainless steel. This necessitated a trip to the local hardware store to buy (4) stainless steel screws of the same diameter and length. Above all else, I don't need to find my mounting screws rusting out on me. The omission of any specifications on the placement of the hanging brackets and holes for the brackets. A simple paper template provided would have been an immense amount of help. The top and bottom of the shower panel are open. I’m not overly concerned about the bottom being open, but I am somewhat concerned with the top being open, and the chance for water spray being able to get into the inside of the Shower Panel making its way down towards the original opening where the old control valve was. After using the shower several times, I didn’t notice any water that made its way behind the Shower Panel, so this may not be a concern after all. Although the hand held spray wand works really well…Better than any spray wand I’ve had before…It’s made of plastic, as is the overhead shower head. Really disappointing, but negligible due to both working as well as they do. What I like about this Shower Panel: Overall, I’m very impressed with this Shower Panel, and very relieved that I am comfortable with its looks, and performance. When I removed the original control valve, I was then at the point of no return…So I’d better really like it a lot, or I’d have a ton or work to put everything back together the way it was. Well I wasn’t disappointed in the least. I love this Shower Panel. It provides me with a shower I’ve really never experienced before. Literally, there is so much water coming out, it really surprises you at first. It’s so soothing to experience, and just plain Wonderful!!! Well worth all the research, and work involved in its installation, and Highly Recommended!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Elegant This is a beautiful addition and the function is great. I like the addition of the body jet spray nozzles and handheld spray wand. The glass finish is elegant. The installation instructions are very simple and easy. All necessary parts are included - you just need to have a wrench, drill and 6 mm bit (you are probably drilling through tile). Once you install the brackets with the included screws, you hang the fixture and make the connections. It was best to have an assistant to hold the fixture while I made the connections. I added clear silicone caulk around the screw holes and fixture. As shown in the photos, the hot and cold connections are braided stainless, the wand has a stainless hose, and the other lines are plastic. The spray wand works well, but I was a little disappointed it is metallized plastic (I expected stainless) - but this also makes it lightweight. The showerhead has similar construction. But both work well as intended.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Wow Factor This is the ultimate bathroom upgrade and update. I put the column together in the living room and got more complements than it could in the bath. The installation instructions seem straightforward but I felt there should be cut offs at the supply lines. I pulled it out to retile the shower with white Carrara tile and will have more pics when done. This would be beautiful in any shower.

I got this a few months ago but wasn't able to get help installing this until just recently. I read the installation instructions that came with this and knew this wasn't something I would want to attempt on my own. This does require some sort of plumbing knowledge to install as well as possibly having to get inside the wall to attach the parts. I did have to have a professional install this but now that it's done I am very pleased with the whole thing. The rain shower head on this is actually circular and not square like in the picture which isn't a big deal to me as long as it worked like a rain shower head and was the size indicated which it was. The water flow was just right and my husband really loves the jets and the pressure from them. Overall this is a great shower panel and seems to be a decent price compared to others. The only down side was installation, but if you are half way decent with plumbing this may not be an issue for you. The deco black glass is great too!
