Installation problems but good pump
I purchased this pump to use outside my pond, and the manufacturer verified it could be used externally (non-submerged). I found it wasn't well designed for that purpose. The intake coupler is simply glued in place so it came right off when I attached the pipe to it. The manufacturer was very helpful though and sent me a replacement part free of charge quickly. The output coupling is also questionable as it is plastic on plastic thread and started leaking out immediately. Nothing that a lot of teflon tape could not fix but it should have been designed with a washer in place. The pump is now functional, it is very quiet and works really well in spite of the installation hiccups.

Haven't finished digging pond yet, but tested it in bathtub, and seemed to work wonderfully. Very pleased with purchase. Only thing wrong so far is that one of the long, plastic parts of the impeller cover/filter grill, next to one of the little 'feet', is broken - nothing mechanical.

Good pump for our 400 gallon fish tank!
