About This Product

Alpha Bidet wants to make it easy for you to experience a bidet seat, so we created the iX Hybrid so you can get your feet (butt) wet. To get endless warm water, an LED nightlight, a stainless steel nozzle, and warm air dryer you'd normally have to spend a small fortune. The Alpha iX Hybrid is here to change that perception. The Alpha iX Hybrid bidet toilet seat is built around an advanced hybrid heating system. This ceramic core water heater provides unlimited warm water from start to finish. There are 4 wash modes: a regular rear wash, a front feminine wash, an additional rear+ wash with a narrower stream, and a child mode. Water temperature and spray pressure are fully adjustable and each of the iX Hybrids wash functions can be modified with both nozzle oscillation and/or a pulsing stream. The Alpha iX Hybrid also has some high end features like a LED nightlight, stainless steel nozzle, and a warm air dryer with adjustable temperature. The dryer is perfect for users with limited mobility who cant physically wipe and also users trying to eliminate toilet paper usage altogether. Of course the iX Hybrid wouldnt be complete with the standard set of bidet seat features like a toasty heated seat, occupied seat sensor, quick release installation, soft closing seat and lid, and power saving modes. The iX Hybrid fits Elongated 2 piece toilets and some 1 piece toilets that do not have a French curve design. Skirted toilets may require extra parts for installation.

Answer This Question

A:  don't see why not as it's just a seat. all mechanicals are located in the seat. btw, works great

A:  It will work. The problems I’ve had was discoloration of the seat caused from the seat heater and the water heater went out forcing me to buy a new heater and installing something I won’t do again

Purchased it November 2019 right before having surgery on my elbow and figured this would help, this is our first bidet and very happy with all the features & funtions for the price, 6 months later I tried to buy another during the great TP shortage of 2020 and home depo no longer carried this model so I purchased another brand that cost more and was extremely unhappy with it and returned it, fortunately Alpha bidet was back in stock and I purchased another 2, after installing those my original bidet is almost 7 months old and the soft close feature stopped working, contacted alpha bidet and they sent me the parts needed and I will be installing it this weekend

The Alpha iX Hybrid Electric Bidet Seat in white is designed to fit elongated toilets, but may also fit round toilets too! I fount it rather easy to replace my standard quiet close toilet seat with this hybrid toiled seat. after reviewing the "Quick Start Guide and the Users Guide" both supplied by Alpha Bidet in the box with the seat and hardware. Everything was packaged well, and arrived without damage. The removal and installation of the new bidet seat took me about 45 minutes. I have included some step by step pictures to aid others with future installation reference. I thought the installation was fairly straight forward when compared to any regular seat. In fact, it may have been easier. When installing the base bracket to the rubber bushings, it too no effort at all to align the bracket to the toilet. Make sure to install the base bracket with the arrow facing up, and away from the toilets bowl. The rubber bushing simply slip into the mounting holes on the toilet. It will take a bit of a push to slip them in the entire way if dry, or use a small amount of water and soap if necessary. Next, the base of the bidet seat just slides into the receiver of the mounting base, from the bowl to the back. A click should be heard when the seat is properly placed on the base. There is a seat quick release button on the right rear side near the AC wire. If the seat is aligned properly, continue to the water hook-up. If not use the quick release to remove the bidet seat, loosen mount screws, adjust the mounting base, hand tighten taking care not to bend the stainless steel adjustment bracket to base. Reinstall the seat. Turn off supply water to toilet. Replace unserviceable water valve, and supply line to toilet if necessary. Install the three-way splitter to the toilets water inlet, hand snugging the fitting. Make sure the rubber washer is present before installing the splitter to the toilet. Install the water supply line from the shut-off valve. Connect the water supply line to the splitter, and then to the bidet seat. the stub on the bidet seat will rotate to desired position when connecting the water supply. Turn on the water supply at valve and check for leaks. If leaks are found, turn off supply, flush toilet to relieve line pressure, and further snug tight plumbing lines by hand or plumbers pump wrench. Do NOT over tighten! Turn on water. Connect the plug to a grounded AC outlet that is protected with a GFI circuit. Install the supplied "AAA" battery's into the remote control. The seat will run through a quick cycle, then its ready to tryout! Wow, I was amazed how well this bidet seat cleans and dries. There are adjustments on the remote for the size of the backside, position of the spray, seat heat, water heat, famine washing, and child settings just to name a few. Best of all it fit on my round front toilet! After back fusion surgery, it became difficult to wipe. This seat helped remedy that problem for me.

Overall I'm very happy with the Alpha IX Bidet seat and it can cost very little to operate. The Alpha IX has all the main features one would want in a bidet seat including a stainless steel nozzle, water heater, seat heater and air dryer. It works as expected and I enjoy using it. After my first trip to Europe installing a bidet or a bidet seat was always on the back of my mind and I'm very happy in general with the Alpha IX Bidet seat. In the short time it's been installed the reduction in amount of toilet paper used has been noticable. Turning off the water heater now while it's summer the unit is comfortable to use and consumes little electricity. The water heater works quickly and I was impressed how quickly the water temperature adjusted from one temperature to the other. There's a rear wash for men and women and a front wash for women. The position of the wand can be adjusted front or back as well as the water pressure. Hitting the wash button again will cause the wand to oscilate by moving in and out about half an inch. An internal heater heats the cold supply water to 3 different temperatures or no heat. The seat can also be heated and the air dryer has different levels of heat including off. There's a pulse feature which slowly lowers and then increases the water pressure of the wash. Installation was very easy and only required a pair of tongue and groove pliers and a phillips head screwdriver. The installation hardware is pretty neat and will work on a number of different toilets including some one-peice toilets that don't have access underneath the toilet for the toilet seat nuts. The T-fitting and the hoses appear to be made of quality materials. You'll also need to have a nearby GFCI protected outlet to plug it into or it won't work. For most people this will mean hiring an electrician. I liked that they included a grounding screw on the side of the seat which can be grounded to a metal cold water supply pipe. The seat looks bulky compared to a regular seat but Alpha's descision to put the majority of the controls on an IR remote control instead of a side mounted control panel makes it look a little more like a normal toilet seat. If you can't find the remote or the batteries have died there are still 3 buttons available on the side of the seat. One each for rear wash, front wash and a stop button. The buttons on the remote are marked in English and with pictures that are pretty self explanitory. We've been going through a heat wave so it's hard to tell how important the heated seat and water will be but both have 3 heat levels plus off. The water heats up and adjusts quickly as I cycled through the heat settings. They say it has a hybrid water heating system but don't specify what that means. I think it means that there's a small reservoir of water that gets heated in the seat (or just the water in the fittings) and a tankless water heater. Energy consumption isn't too bad. With the seat heater and water heater off the only thing drawing power is the night light at less than a watt. Operating one of the cleaning functions draws about 6 watts of power while stationary and about 10 or 11 when oscilating. The dryer uses less than 8 watts with no heat. Using the seat 16 times a day with dryer but no heated water, seat or air would cost less than $2 a year assuming $0.16 per killowatt hour for New Jersey. The water heater can draw up to 700 watts and will draw that much almost constantly while spraying. The air dryer can draw up to 250 watts but that's at the highest heat setting. The dryer on the second lowest setting looks like it draws about 30 watts or so. The seat heater can draw up to 250 watts. There are 2 energy saving modes you can use. The first (Yellow LED) will keep the seat and water at 32 degC or 89.6 degF when the seat isn't occupied. The second power saving mode (Green LED) will completely turn off the water and seat heaters when not occupied saving even more energy. My rough estimates, even if using the seat heater and water heater with the second energy saving mode assuming a fairly large usage of 16 full cycles a day at $0.16 per killowatt hour only amounts to less than $3 a month in electricty. That's probably a very conservative estimate that assumes you'll always want the seat heater and water heater on throughout the year and even for a family of 4 16 full cycles a day seems like a lot. It does a good job of cleaning the parts it's intended to clean. The water pressure isn't too high to be uncomfortable. There are plenty of adjustments to aim the nozzle, adjust pressure and temperature for your personal preference. It doesn't completely eliminate the need for toilet paper for me since the dryer doesn't completely dry and finishing up drying with toilet paper is necessary but it doesn't use much less toilet paper and provides a more thorough cleaning. There are 2 things I'm not thrilled about though which I'll address first. The lid of the seat is not meant for sitting on. They claim it will support up to 150lbs. It's the norm to expect to sit on the lid of a toilet seat and there are many good reasons to do it. If you have guests in your home that don't know they can't sit on it, it might cause a problem. I'm not alone in thinking that a toilet seat lid should be able to be sat upon. Visiting Alpha Bidet's own website, on the very front page I can read "STURDY, SITTABLE LID Because a toilet seat lid shouldn't be flimsy." This applies to their more expensive JX model and the lower priced, non-electric Alpha One. This is the main reason it loses one star in my rating. Not sure how to delicately describe the next issue. I also have the elongated seat version on an elongated toilet. I still find sitting on it a bit cramped and parts of my body that I would prefer not touch the toilet seat sometimes touch it. This would be an issue for men and not women. Looking at other similar models this may be normal for these types of bidet seats as you're sitting more forward on the seat due to the mechanisms and electronics in the pastic housing at the rear of the seat. This issue can be resolved just by paying more attention to how you sit on it. Those issues aren't enough to make me want to remove it. I just need to remember not to sit on the lid and be careful of how I sit down. Feeling much cleaner more than makes up for it.

Had high hopes for this bidet - I'm currently remodeling the bathroom and wanted to add this luxury to the bathroom. What should have taken 15 min took 45 to install due to horrible instruction manual. I ended up going to YouTube to find install instructions and there was one for a jr model. There's a mounting plate that goes on In the video, the arrow points towards the tank. On this model it points towards the bowl Nowhere in the instructions did it say which way it mounted. Pictures didn't help. This is based on the wife's impression of the bidet since I have no use for a front wash nor would i want to feel any kind of pressure in that area.: - front wash is aggressive on low setting, slightly painful for lady parts - rear wash is more gentle.. may just use that all around for front and back wash Update: Went to the bathroom and found a huge puddle of water on the floor. There are no water leaks where the hoses connect - so I'll have to take it out and see if I can troubleshoot the issue. Based on this...I cannot recommend this product.

This is my third Bidet, and the best. This one has many features and they are benefits. There are 2 rear washes, the rear+ wash is for a more designated area, and one front wash. But it also has a dryer built in, Most don't. Seat warmer, water temp controll, as well as nozzle cleaning, these are great conviences. Great about this is that most every feature has a adjustment, the seat heater and the water temp can be be set for a comfortable warmth. The nozzle is extendable, and the water temperature controllable. The installation was a snap. I am a DIYer and found no problems. I, as a precaution used plumbers thread tape so there would not leak. The electrical was a little tricky, but I innovated and found a outlet on the other side of the wall behind the behind the toilet. (see picture) When adding mounting bracket, be sure not to tighten screws to hart, it may crack the porcelain. Bidet works perfectly my wife said. Using a combonation of toilet paper and the bidet gives a nice clean hygenic Bottom.

This is an increasingly addictive luxury….and not just better hygiene for humans….better for the septic system too (stop flushing wet wipes, minimize paper use, etc). And, all at a VERY fair price to add multiple bidet functions to existing elongated-shaped toilets. Planning access to electricity is essential. The unit requires 120V-60Hz and a 15 amp GFCI outlet at least 12-inches above the floor. The plug is 3-prong. The cord is white, about 47-inches long, and is attached to the right side of the seat. Without installing a new outlet, we had only one bathroom that met the requirements and we still needed an extension cord. The outlet was on the left and we ended up running the cord under the toilet and adjacent vanity. The white cord blends in nicely with our bathroom wainscot. Be sure to open the links under Product Overview >> Info and Guides on the Home Depot website. It will help determine suitability if you have a one piece toilet or lack a GFCI outlet, outline specifications, plus provide detailed parts, configuration and installation guidance. The installation manual is very detailed and complete. And, although all the diagrams are legible, a few are too small to clearly determine the required positioning (e.g. bracket holder, catch plate, supply hose). We benefited from opening the online links to enlarge the graphics and think we got it right. There are two rubber sleeves (with integral nuts) that show up separately from the two bolts on the parts list; ours came with the sleeves already on the bolts (we didn’t have to remove them to install). For us, getting the alignment correct was a repetitive process. Be sure to tighten the bolts firmly enough, but not completely, until you have the final position correct. Since our install is in a room with wood flooring, we were especially careful not to cross-thread and even used plumber’s tape to guarantee there would be no leaks. The metal fittings and metal supply hose should ensure additional durability. The remote control is kinda big at 3-1/4 x 6 inches (2 AAA batteries are included). As far as operation, there is no “auto” setting on the remote and the learning curve is a little steep. Keep that “Use Instructions” pamphlet and manual control handy, you might want to sit down and take some extra time to read them in detail after the install!
