Product Overview

To heighten the overall authenticity of a faux beam installation, American Pro Decor's rubber faux beam strapping replicates the look of the heavy, forged wrought iron fastening hardware used to secure and affix the beams of yesteryear in place. American Pro Decor's rubber beam strapping, which is purely decorative, can be used to hide seams when fastening two beams together. Sold in rolls, rubber beam strapping can be readily cut with a utility knife or scissors and attaches to beams via adhesive and finishing nails.

Relatively easy to install. We cut ours with a utility knife and square for a straight cut. The glue we used was Loctite PL Premium which can be used on Polyurethane. Once glued we used pins to hold it in place then removed the pins 24 hours later. The beams are very realistic so they are not flat a smooth. The straps won’t always lay flat or not have a gap. But with patience you will get them to look great.

Very useful
Used this to hide seams on a faux ceiling beam. Gave it a great look. Saw some reviews that said it didn’t sit flush around the beam. In order to make it sit flush is to attach it on one side then stretch it around the beam to the other side. I used screws because I need to access one side panel where the ceiling fan remote antenna is located. I will conceal the screw heads so they can’t be seen. A little wood putty will do the job and I’ll be able to still get to the screw heads

I would give the finished look 5 stars. However, there are no directions on how to attached this is a beam. Fortunately, we were able to YouTube some videos and decided what would be best in our situation

I bought this to cover the seams for the beams in our mudroom. The color was great but the cut of the strap was poorly done. The sizing was all over the place (going from very thin to thick). So ultimately I returned the item.

      Good product
Good product for covering the joints of the beams. Also, a must for where beams abut against the wall. Easy to install with Brad nailer. Easy to cut. Only drawback is the price. Very expensive for a piece of rubber. I needed 7. Do the math.
