The low price will lure you in. Don't be fooled. This shower kit was a nightmare to install. The engineering is so bad. There are open seams everywhere, especially where the bottom of the panels meet the shower base. It doesn't seal well. We had to buy additional peices of granite just so we wouldn't have water damage. On top of this, it LEAKS! We've used layers of caulk and it's finally subsided. I would gladly pay 3x this amount to avoid this disaster.

Unless the walls are plumb, this product presents a problem with the tongue & groove after glueing. Does not slide in grove tightly - it left a 1/4 “ opening which, now, is impossible to close. Will have to caulk the opening which will look awful. Wish the 2 pieces were one piece. Very disappointed that we paid much more for this system considering a one piece unit would have been seemless.

This 4-piece shower surround from American Standard is the perfect solution to quickly spruce up a tired shower alcove, and for much less effort than is required to install tile. The surround is constructed of acrylic with a smooth surface that resembles white marble stone. Other colors are available. This bath set consists of four panels, 2 back wall sections and a left and right wall section. Each panel is 7/16-inch thick. There is no soap holder or shelves integrated into the panels, but you can attach a soap holder, shelf or towel bar into the acrylic walls with stainless steel screws. The box containing the 4-wall panels is very heavy (about 100 lbs), and includes two tubes of adhesive caulk and one tube of sealant. Installation is fairly easy and straight-forward, and is accomplished with basic tools that everyone should have, but some wall prep is needed to ensure the adhesive caulk sticks. Each panel is 72-inches tall, and can be installed on the floor or on top of a tub. I found an installation video on Youtube with step-by-step instructions published by American Standard that was helpful. In this video, they installed the panels on the floor of a shower stall. The most difficult part of the installation is making sure the holes in the side walls for the valve and tub spout are in the correct position. The video unfortunately does not show the holes for plumbing being cut. Aside from proper placement of the holes, using a sufficient amount of silicon adhesive-sealant is key to a successful installation. You also can fabricate braces out of 2x4 studs to hold the panel walls in place while they cure. The panels can be trimmed with a table or circular saw to adjust for uneven walls. The panels overlap by only about 3/8-inch, which leaves no room for error or adjustment, so it’s important that the holes for the valve and spout are correctly oriented. Some alcove walls sets are direct mount to wall studs, but this one requires a backer wall, which must be smooth in good condition prior to installation. It’s possible to install this alcove over existing tile, but the tiles must be clean and adhered tightly to the wall. Since I was replacing an old wall set, the backer wall got torn up during removal, so it was necessary to make repairs with new wall board prior to installation of the new alcove. All of the surfaces of this surround are smooth and easily wipe clean, but seems like it would scratch easily, so you need to be careful not to scrub with anything abrasive. While I wish there was a soap tray molded into one of the side walls, the quality of this alcove is very good, and I am very satisfied with it.

My new shower walls look great and my bath will looks like a new room. I'm glad to have a new looking bathroom. It's a good idea to have a second person to help you, it makes it much easier. I thought the glue came with this unit, so make sure you ask the pro desk at Home Depot about the right glue and it's best to have some 2x4's to help brace the walls in place. I used 6 2x4's and put face cloths on the ends to make sure I didn't scratch the panel's.

American Standard Passage 60-in.X72-in. 4 piece glue-up alcove shower walls in serene marble totally transformed our shower. Our other option was for tile and grout which can be a mess and would have required long term maintenance. It has several installation options (to wall-board or over tile). Can be trimmed. The package Included 2 side panels measuring 32-in. x 72-in., and a 2-piece back panel with finished measurement of 60-in. x 72-in. and features a Bull-nosed edge for a custom finish and a tongue and groove back panels for a neat installation. To finish the job, a shower base and shower door and shelves will be required. Juts a beautiful product.

Shower tub surround Surround itself is solid. Not the flimsy acrylic surrounds often purchased at and below this price point. Read the directions and use the correct adhesive also there is a direction for easiest installation with video on Home Depot site. The surround ships in a flat-pack box and it is pretty heavy, it is pretty straightforward on how to install it. You have to accurately measure your enclosure (and then double-check again it take only one mistake for whole surround to be waste) and cut your parts according to the enclosed instructions which is circular saw. You will need to buy following to finish the installation 8 Tubes Waterproof Instant Grab Construction Adhesive and 2 Tubes Tub & Tile Sealant. I would recommend using a 100% silicone white colored and you will need mineral spirit and lots of disposable rugs to clean the seams and corners. Take your time and your installation should turn out fine. Ours looks good and should last for years. Some suggestions if you are removing an old acrylic surrounding or old tile I strongly recommended to replace sheeting behind it will make your installation much easier. I am very satisfied with this product. It met all my expectations.

I really do like this product. I already installed a different one/color in my master bath. Now, in my master there aren't any windows where the shower is so i didn't encounter any issues installing these walls. But, in my guest bathroom, there is a window in middle/top part of back wall which is where the shower is located. I ended up cutting around window and glue the inside window sill with extra pieces of shower walls. Next paycheck, I am going to go buy these mosaic tile sheets that i saw at Home Depot that match almost perfectly. the quality of this product is pretty good. But i wish they would add skinnier pieces with the rounded edge for around windows and whatnot. Besides having to cut out around the window, which i'm sure isn't that common for most people to have window in shower, the installation was quite easy. Directions were clear and precise, easy to follow. I believe the novice of DIY-ers can install this product without any professional help. But if you aren't that confident in your home fixing skills, then maybe you should hire a professional or at least a handyman. Oh, and you'll see in the pictures below that I also installed a new shower door. I gave it 4 stars because of the issues with cutting around windows, you have to buy the caulking and glue (x2...at the price of these walls, they should at least give the glue and possibly the caulk). Definitely a good quality product, would recommend to any and all that want to update or just change the look of their bathroom.

I got this to line a steam shower. I prefer traditional tile, or marble, but I find natural materials are cold and condense a lot of steam warming them up. This should actually insulate the enclose. The other benefits of these sheets, fewer spots to potentially leak, no grout lines to get moldy, and they are easier to install. They look good. The one I got is called Serene Marble. It is pretty white (almost a Sugar Marble color) and with the varying pattern of veining, does not look faux. I wish they came in 96". Going to the ceiling would make the entire installation easier and look more custom. Also, wish it had faux grout lines (e.g. 1 or 2 foot square), to make it look more real.

These shower wall glue up pieces are very well made. They have a very nice finish, smooth and water proof, the pattern is a marble design, which is timeless. Always in style and fits with any décor. The color is mostly white, with a pale gray marble pattern. We received by mail, and the packaging was excellent!! It weighed 115 lbs, so it's very sturdy. So much better than grout lines in tile that end up getting moldy, nice smooth easy to clean walls!!

We are adding a new bathroom downstairs and opted to use the American Standard Passage 60-in. x 72-in. 4-Piece Glue-Up Alcove Shower Walls in Serene Marble. It is multi-layer acrylic product that quite stout and heavy for its dimensions. The shipping weight listed at 142 pounds on the delivery invoice though the product itself is listed at 102 pounds. It will be glued onto the backerboard we are now installing using a polyurethane glue. Our plans changed yesterday, however, due to building code issues brought up by the building inspector and now it will be a surround for a soaker tub with a marble floor. The change has delayed installation of plumbing and electrical. I do believe the finish product will be beautiful and I will post pictures as we proceed.
