No; it's a separate hand too that clamps on to the handle of the main rake.

Would it be possible to rake pine needles with this rake? We lost 19 Blue Spruce due to Bark Beetles and the trees dropped most of their needles which has left a tremendous raking/cleanup job. Any help or advise will be greatly appreciated.
Asked by: 8RottsRule
Yes, clean up of pine needles, chain saw and chipper / shredder residue was the prime example when the tree removal service was on site.

Ames 26 in. Dual Tine Poly Leaf Rake Combo is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 466.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Why did I wait so long? Well, it turns out I've been suffering with my 30 year old metal spring rake. I didn't know what I was missing! No splinters from the composite handle. My old wood handle gave me splinters. No pain from the wide swath. My old spring rake took forever with its small width. And finally, no loneliness. Invite your young child to learn the joy of raking! I'm serious, the little hand rake is a great introduction for the little ones. Oh, yeah, it is also handy to get in the small places. I cannot believe how much faster this is than my old rake. The design works better on my willow oak leaves too. If I had one complaint, it would be that on uneven ground, the wide swath may cause the rake to miss "divot" areas. This is one place the spring rake had an advantage. But seriously, folks, you want the wide swath. It rules over everything else. The quality looks decent and should last me at least 10 years. Maybe not 30 like my old metal one, but who knows, in 15 years or so it will be time for the next raking innovation.

Great rake I have a 225 year old oak tree which hangs onto my property, acorns and leaves take at least a month to clear this rake makes all the difference. It rakes both leaves and acorns. smaller rake helps with piling and pickup of acorns which fill at least 4 recycle bags full. I lent it to a landscaper and he was amazed how fast it helped complete job. I'm older but can even drag this behind me while walking and rake leaves lol. Great investment, the double tine makes a tremendous difference in what gets raked and left behind

Save your money and avoid this product. All of my workers REFUSE to use this rake as it DOES NOT properly rake up small debris with its dual teeth design, nor is it very flexible with its squared off head, nor does the mini rake prove any better. Hence, unwanted frustration and loss of speed when raking. Save your money and buy 3 standard leaf rakes for the same price.

The rake is large but light weight and easy to use. We used it for raking grass and thatch and to prepare bare dirt for overseeding. A great rake that helped the job go quicker and easier.
