The ApolloPEX 3/4 in. Brass PEX Barb Ball Valve with drain and mounting pad is simple to install and provides flow control through an anti-stick and smooth operating quarter turn lever handle. Is the drain hole ends up facing away you when installed ?
The drain port is located on the side of the valve. How it's oriented after installation depends entirely on how you choose to install it. You can install the valve in either direction, so you can position the drain to face whichever way is most convenient for your setup.
Is the drain outlet closed/blocked when the valve is in the open position? i.e. is the drain only open when the valve is closed?
The drain comes with a cap that will block any water from coming out when in the open position.
What is the distance between hole centers of the mount on the 1/2" and 3/4" valve?
1-1/4" from center of barb to center of the next barb.
What thread size is the drain port? There is supposed to be a cap on the drain. Mine was missing, I will have to return the valve if I cant find something to connect.

Wouldn't it be important which side the drain is on? Presumably you would want the drain on the outlet (fixture) vs inlet (supply) side.

Does the drain port work when the valve is closed? If yes, does it only drain on one side meaning i need to face it the right direction?

This valve cannot be used with Uponor/Wirsbo PEX pipe. The Apollo 1/2 in. Brass PEX Barb Ball Valve with Drain and Mounting Pad is a PEX-B fitting that may be used with Apollo PEX-A pipe. Apollo PEX-A pipe carries both the F1960 (PEX-A) and F1807 (PEX-B) ratings which allow for such connections. If connecting this fitting to PEX-A pipe, please make sure you secure the fitting via a copper crimp ring or stainless steel pinch clamp. The PEX-A equivalent fitting is MFG# EPXV12WD, Store SKU #1003818613, Store SO SKU #1003224713, Internet #305469319. If you purchase the PEX-A version of this fitting, please make sure you secure this fitting to PEX-A pipe via a PEX-A sleeve.
