The ApolloPEX 3/4 in. Brass PEX Barb Ball Valve with drain and mounting pad is simple to install and provides flow control through an anti-stick and smooth operating quarter turn lever handle. The quarter turn, single lever control allows for simple control of water flow in hydronic and potable water systems and the side vent allows for the expulsion of air or water for testing, repair or weatherization situations. Also capable of being integrated into hydronic heating systems, ApolloPEX valves can be secured into place using copper crimps, stainless steel pinch clamps or stainless steel crimp sleeves (all sold separately). The ApolloPEX system is a comprehensive piping system comprised of brass fittings, poly alloy fittings, manifolds, valves, fasteners, tools and tubing designed for implementation in water delivery systems, simple or complex.

The drain port is located on the side of the valve. How it's oriented after installation depends entirely on how you choose to install it. You can install the valve in either direction, so you can position the drain to face whichever way is most convenient for your setup.
The drain comes with a cap that will block any water from coming out when in the open position.
1-1/4" from center of barb to center of the next barb.
Please send an email to our support staff at Support@mosackgroup.com and we will have a new cap sent out to you.
Wouldn't it be important which side the drain is on? Presumably you would want the drain on the outlet (fixture) vs inlet (supply) side.
No, direction of flow does not matter with this valve.
