Not tough enough to stay tight
I have used this style of clamp for years and have a special compound with side and center crimp. The problem: THEY ARE TOO THIN and cannot hold their tension. I am forced to use 2 & 3 clamps on all but the low-pressure poly pipe systems, and even these require additional crimping throughout the season. Pex clamps in this style work well, but at $1 ea for 1" dia. (needed for 3/4" poly) x 1000 or more.. the cost becomes prohibitive. Beef them up a bit.

Just be sure to slip them onto the hose BEFORE you insert the fitting, and squeeze the special pliers really hard. I used two per fitting and haven't leaked a drop ay 129 psi.
