Hi there, If I bought these tiles, would I still benefit from purchasing Soniguard's Thermal Insulation tiles as well to put above these tiles, or do they not make a difference if you have the Armstrong tiles? I have a Theater room that I am looking to soundproof more https://www.homedepot.com/p/Ceilume-Soniguard-24-in-x-24-in-Drop-Ceiling-Acoustic-Thermal-Insulation-Case-of-24-AC-SONIGRD-96SF/204260961
Asked by: Devin
Hello Devin, Armstrong does not recommend back loading our ceiling tiles. Our tiles are not meant to bear any extra weight on the tile. We would not recommend doing this. If you do put any bat insulation (R19 is the max you can use) in your ceiling, it must be laying on the grid, not the tile itself.
