No a single problem installing, I did ad a 2x4 between studs for item to sit on and one filler piece on both sides, like instructions say, and WA-LA fits flush, to wall, is is operating perfectly,

Easy install. Works like it should. And looks good in the wall. Needs finished out in the pic, but you get the idea.

For the price the safe is a good value. I would have given it excellent rating but the packing is not the best for a heavy item. There is not enough packing to prevent the corner from being damaged. The first safe ordered was received with the box corner crushed. This caused the safe wall flange to bend. So, the safe was returned and a second safe ordered. Second safe received again with a slightly bent front corner. This also caused the paint to crack where the door rubs on the inside flange. The installation is easy. Check stud spacing with a stud sensor. The safe installs between normal house wood studs. The safe is 14 inches wide and normal studs are spaced at 14 ½ inches apart. Cut the drywall out 14 x 20-inch hole (using a drywall saw) and place safe in the hole and secure with the four attached screws. Batteries supplied with safe were almost dead and did not allow for programing your own combination. Programing is very simple. Safe door has numerous places to hold keys of other items. I recommend always placing some painter tape on the inside or outside of the safe to date or remind you to replace batteries yearly, wax pencils also work good. There is a set of keys included to override the electronic lock.

I ordered two of these online. One came in damaged. I took it back to the local store, but they didn't have any in stock so am left with just one.

The wall safe is a good buy for the money. There were no installation instructions with my unit. Fortunately I have installed these before. Installation is very easy. The fit and finish are okay - relative to the cost of the safe.

I bought this when it was special deal of a day. I received it promptly and well packaged. There was a small nick to paint in one corner but since it is designed to be covered up and hidden I felt it was okay. The delivery was missing bolt screw and instructions did not explain how to mount. I called the number for buffalo tools and the lady I spoke with said she will email instructions and ship the screw. When I did not get any email I tried searching for it online and could not find mounting instructions. I then sent an email to info@buffalotools.com and I received few days later the instructions and screw. I was able to install in couple of hours. I used a stud finder to locate studs 16 inches apart on a interior wall and with a sheetrock hand saw I was able to cut the sheetrock to match dimensions of back of safe. Drilled 4 holes with a 3/16" drill and put the bolt screws to secure it to studs. Covered with a light art work that I can easily move. Over all I am happy with the purchase and price. Using the safe diligently takes discipline that we need to improve, but we will move valuables slowly. I believe this is a excellent value addition to your home and will appeal to buyers if you sell your home. It will not make your wall weak as it does not need you to cut any studs. I suggest putting a bead of caulk around after installation to seal the opening air-tight.

The first safe which I received had really poor packaging and was missing the key part that is the "key" to open it for the first time. I managed to reach the customer care and they sent me a replacement after confirming the proof of purchase. The packaging was a bit better this time. Now coming to the actual product. The safe looks average in terms or construction and materials used. The plastic on the numpad and the knob feels kinda cheap. It feels fairly sturdy for a wall safe, but I would not recommend this for storing jewelry or any other precious stuff. It works fine for storing a small sized handgun and bullets. The initial setup requires opening the safe with a key and putting in batteries and setting up a pin, which was fairly easy. This may be installed as a wall safe to conceal it behind a mirror or painting. Overall, I would recommend this if you are looking for a cheap, easy to use wall safe.

This in-wall safe is a little on the cheap side of quality, but for the price point it's at, I really doubt you'll be able to find anything better at all. Especially when it goes on sale for 40% off like it did a few months ago! I suppose an in-wall safe like this one's primary defense is being hidden behind a picture frame or mirror anyway. It should keep your valuables out of sight, and it will at least prove an inconvenience to a casual theif. But I don't think it will slow down someone with an angle grinder or a hefty crowbar much at all. The door is made of a sheet of steel that appears to be a little bit thinner than 1/8". The one I received had a slight convex bend along its whole width. The locking mechanism is located in the very center rather than at the corners, which makes this safe much more vulnerable to prying open. The locking bars themselves sat a little crooked on mine, but seemed like they were pretty solid. The keypad is all fairly cheap feeling plastic, and has a cover that pops off for access to the backup keyhole. The pad beeps very loudly when the buttons are pressed, and as far as I could tell, there's no way to turn off the sound. As for the interior, the locking mechanism takes up just about the whole middle shelf. You may be able to fit some documents on it, but not much else. The top and bottom shelves have a bit more space, and all shelves have a thin foam lining that's just kind of set in there. I still had trouble fitting my full size handgun into the top and bottom shelves easily. It fits, but it's very difficult to get in and out, so I wouldn't recommend this safe for storing a home defense gun in. The kit also includes 1/4" hex head lag bolts for mounting to the studs. The holes are pre-drilled in sides of the safe, and are only accessible when the safe is open. For some reason, the included hardware kit also had four drywall achors with it. I'm not quite sure why, since this is definitely meant to be installed into studs, and not drywall. One last note, the packaging could be a bit better. Two of the four included AA batteries had shifted in the box and been crushed by the safe. Overall, this is a decent economy safe. It won't keep out a determined theif, but even then, they'll have to find it first. For the price, I really don't think you'll be able to find a better option.
