Q:Do the seeds expire? I'm thinking of getting this and be able to use for 4 to 5 years. The scotts 7lbs is expensive.

      Answer This Question

A:  If it's the 7 lb of Kentucky blue I've had mine for that it stayed fine just keep it in control temperature words not going to get moisture and start germinating and then warm keep it at stemi study temperature.

      by|May 30, 2020

A:  The date on the seed label will expire but the viability of the seed will last several years when properly stored. As the seed ages the precent of seed (by weight) that will germinate will start to drop off.

Q:How long does this grass take to come in? Should I mix this grass seed with rye grass seed or anything for that matter?

          Answer This Question

A:  Make sure you use perennial rye not annual perennial rye because that you'll have to replace it every year and the company that starts with penta makes the Fairway Supreme perennial rye good stop hope it helps.

          by|May 30, 2020

A:  Bluegrass can take up to 28 days to germ. You can mix or blend it with varieties like a ryegrass, rye would act as a nurse crop if planting on a slope or stabilize the soil until the longer germ bluegrass hardened.

Great color and quick Germination, High cost, but worth it.
Germination in less than two weeks!, (Using Peat Moss) looks great, so colorful that even look not real. thick and "fluffy:.

              Great results with Bermuda variety.
I reseeded a 1/4 acre portion of my front yard with the Transcontinental Bermuda, I waited till early June to ensure the soil temperature was adequate. I properly prepped (killed existing lawn with glyphosate, tilled several times, raked and rolled after sewing). I had seedlings in just 6 days and after 4 weeks I've already mowed once, need to mow again and its really taking off. My germination rate was very high, likely 90%+. I hope to do the other half of the front yard next year and will be buying this again. My picture shows the new Bermuda grass on the left and my old weedy fescue yard on the right.

This bag of seeds did not produce like the previous bag I had purchased and planted.Brought in top soil and used the same process. No luck this go round. First bag produced a beautiful lawn. Like they say…never as good the second time. I think the seed might have been like me. Elderly.

I noticed mixed reviews but gave this brand a chance. I prepped my lawn as needed before seeding (soil test, added needed nutrients). Unfortunately, nothing has germinated from this bag. I’ve actually never ran into this issue with other of the shelf seeds. I gave it time being it Kentucky blue grass and watered to schedule to keep soil moist (made sure not to over water) and still not one germination. I would say lesson learned and save your money. Purchase another brand.

I used this product the last two years to improve my lawn by seeding it in the fall. This past spring I saw improvement. I expect the same come next years spring as well. Results will take a little time.
