Can work
3/16th glass is the thinnest allowed, I believe. If you're heavy-handed, may bump into it, or have kids, I would go with at LEAST 1/4. I got it to try it out for a rental but put it in the master where there are only adults. I ended up getting another sliding door that's 1/4 for the hallway bathroom.

I was skeptical after seeing some reviews of the glass shattering. But I decided to go ahead and buy it because of the low price. We remodeled our master bath on a tight budget and this shower door absolutely gave it the finishing touch. We had one section of frame that was out of plumb (when the house was built) which we didn't even realize until we installed this shower door. There was more than enough adjustment to compensate for the error. The glass was fragile, like any other glass, but smart handling and even weight distribution made it a simple task to hang. The towel bar and slide handles are definitely entry level, but I expected this of a kit that was hundreds less than its counterparts. Overall I would definitely recommend it for a budget remodel. 5 stars for overall quality for the value.

Very easy to install, the length was a bit large so we had to use a hack saw to trim both the top and bottom frames but it was very simple. Great product! The instructions were a bit touchy at times and we were missing the screws for the no jump sliding things in the top rack but we just shipped off the ends of some screws to fit and it worked great. Over all very satisfied!

Installation was straightforward, although I had to go online and watch videos just to be sure. The trickiest part was the installation of the anti-lift devices, and a video showing the proper installation of them would have been a godsend (in the end, it was simple, but when you don't have reference, I spent an hour trying to install something that took seconds...) Now, this was an affordable replacement in oil rubbed bronze, but we needed it for a replacement in an 40.5 inch opening. Because these could be cut down, they were the right solution. However, the doors are fixed width, and only one door is meant to open via the handle. As fixed width, they overlap considerably for my shower, about a 5" overlap. this, in turn, creates a much narrower opening to enter the shower. Sadly, even though these come from the factory, you cannot order them with a specific door width, and have to live the the overlap. My home is 20 years old, and the size of my shower enclosure was pretty standard then. Overall, I do like the way the ORB goes with the rest of my bath, and the door and frame seems to be of a decent quality.
