Please be aware that safety is in the hands of the applicator. While Captain Jack's Deadweed Brew has no insecticidal properties, the product formula is acidic.
Captain Jack's Deadweed Brew kills on direct contact with plant acids. It burns the foliage. The solution must be applied thoroughly to be effective. Desirable plants should be protected from over spray or drift to prevent damage, however light drift will generally not kill well established plants. Often speckling on the leaves will occur to non-target plants that accidentally get a little solution on them.
Potentially, since safety of use is in the hands of the applicator. Captain Jack's Deadweed Brew burns green growth that comes into contact with the solution. The product can be used to carefully spot treat weeds in a garden bed. If spot treating, open the spray nozzle slightly for a larger droplet size to reduce drift while keeping the spray nozzle low to prevent over spray onto desirable plants. Accidental over spray can be rinsed off desirable plants.
No.
If you don't get it on the rhubarb plant, it should be fine. It does not act systemically, it burns only the leaves it is applied to. You can put something over the desirable plants to protect them from overspray.
You can apply it at 4oz-12oz per gallon of water, no need to add a surfactant.
