Hi Pollux. Thank you for your question. You can use the timer function to set a cook time for any element. The element will turn off automatically once the set time has elapsed. Each cooking zone has an independent CountDown timer.

Is it installable over a bosch built in wall oven?

Per the Specifications for this model, there needs to be a 1" clearance between the bottom of the cooktop and the top of the oven. Please ensure the installer consults the Bosch installation guide for this model.
