Bummed it has no connectivity to my Bosch Cooktop
So unlike others, i read and understood the fan is additional which is the same for all downdrafts, but my primary complaint is that I have a new bosch cooktop that has home connect and can control a fume hood and turn it on and off automatically when you turn the burners on but bosch doesn't make a downdraft with home connect which is a bummer, I was going to buy something else but it seems no one makes a downdraft with home connect. It would have been really nice to turn on a burned and have this pop up and turn on but instead it works like it is 1995 still, looks nich though!

No idea if this downdraft actually works or not. I ordered this down draft on 7/3 and didn't get it until October. The bosch downdraft blower that home depot sells does not go with this unit. I only just found this out when we went to install it once we finally got the downdraft. Bosch has had terrible delays and back orders for their products and now I won't have the blower until January (if I even get it then). Meanwhile I cannot install my stove or finish my kitchen renovation until I get this part. Bosch should sell all these downdraft pieces together as a single unit. It's been a nightmare trying to figure out which pieces I need (it's not clear) and with the backorder situation it makes it impossible to have a fully functioning downdraft unit since you have to order each part separately and all of them have a different delivery timeline. I didn't listen to the warnings of the other reviews and I wish that I had. I've had to place multiple orders for the same item at different retailers in hopes that one of them to come through and not get delayed. It's been this way with all of our appliances which are Bosch. I don't think the downdraft is worth this amount of stress and time. Do yourself a favor and order another brand that comes with all the parts. The Bosch double wall oven was worth the stress and time, it's amazing!

Bosch has three blowers available for different application needs: Internal blower which mounts to the downdraft vent inside the cabinet, an in-line blower which mounts between the vent and the exterior of the home, or a remote blower which mounts outside on the roof or exterior wall.

Gave 4 Stars ..Please be aware that the downdraft vent needs a motor that has to be ordered separately..no one told us this important info..Must say this vent is very quiet..and the telescoping vent variable switch is great..just installed 5/2020

DON'T
Do yourself a favor and never get a downdraft...Ever.
If codes in your state allow, have Zero ventilation before you install one of these nightmares in waiting. It will cost you a fortune to replace when it breaks.
