The recommended clearance between the shelf on the cooktop and the bottom of the extractor hood should be at least 24 inches (610 mm) for electric or induction cooktops, and 30 inches (760 mm) for gas or combined ranges. While it is possible to install the hood at a higher distance, we recommend adhering to these guidelines for optimal performance. Hi Guillermo. Thank you for your question. The extension for Canopy Style Island Hood, Model # HIB82651UC is Model #HCIEXT5UC for 9 - 11.5 ft. ceilings.

To my knowledge Bosch does not offer chimney extensions for this hood. You way have to build a chase for the balance of the chimney using 2 x 4's and drywall. Mike

You will need to re-frame the ceiling joints above the vent, forming a box. Have the vent pipe then run through the middle of the box to the roof or wall exit vent cap. Takes a little work. If you are not up to doing it yourself, you will need to hire a contractor. I did it for mine and it took a couple of hours to finish.

Hi jay. Thank you for your question. The HIB82651UC Box Canopy Style Island Hood has a 600 CFM centrifugal integrated blower included and an 8 in. round duct at discharge. There is also a recirculation kit available for this model. The part number for that is HIREC5UC. Please see the Installation Instructions located on the Home Depot site for this product for further information on installation.
