Questions & Answers

Kills dandelions and safe for centipede grass?

Asked by: rwr
This product is not meant for use in killing weeds ( dandelions) in any grass. Weed B gone, Speedzone and many others are better choices for you. This is a very strong herbicide and it will kill your grass I use to to cut and kill volunteer trees and bushes.

Does this work on Tree of Heaven- I’ve read they can be hard to kill

Asked by: Scott
Tree of Heaven like bamboo is extremely difficult to kill because they grow in any soil and are spread by seeds and suckers. Use a hand ax and score the trunk of the tree in spots in a ring but not connected and spray only in the cuts. Make a at good cut. Don't let it drip and run down the trunk. Use full strength and should take about two weeks to kill but it will kill the roots. You must do each tree individually. If you just cut the trees down you will end up with 10 times more trees. Use spray only! This is a very strong herbicide.

Will this product kill invasive bamboo?

Will this product kill invasive bamboo?
Asked by: ohenry
I doubt it! Triclopyr is the key ingredient in "Pathfinder", a very useful product in killing many tree and brush species. Running bamboo or "Phyllostachys", like all bamboo is a species of grass. The most effective means of removing bamboo is to physically remove the risomes from the ground. This can be a monumental effort in established stands of bamboo, and could require the use of an array of heavy tools like a stump grinder, back hoe or even a tractor with rear mounted ripping tines. The size and location of the bamboo stand will dictate the methods used. Try a good strong ratio of Round-Up (7%). Keep in mind that you will still need to remove any presence of the risomes in order to use the area again. Hope this helps. Good Luck. Craig

Will this destroy wild/mock strawberries on the lawn? Can I use without diluting?

Asked by: Ems
In my experience. This product will kill most everything it is contact with. I would contact the manufacturer/directions for use statement regarding mixing it with water. Avoid an inhalation injury! Use only in a well ventilated area!!
