Solana 60-Watt Equivalent A19 Dimmable Smart Wi-Fi Connected LED Light Bulb Color Changing (1-Bulb)

LED - 60-watt equivalent - white/color smart bulb This Bulbrite Solana LED bulb is a “standard” size (A19 base) smart light bulb that can be controlled from the free downloadable Bulbrite app. Its white light can be adjusted through the app from a very warm white to a very cool white, and dimmable full range from faint to full brightness. The color adjustments give you the full rainbow of a spectrum of colors as well as a few single tap preset colors. The colors are vibrant, but the color light is not extremely bright. If you put it in a lamp with any opacity to the shade, it is not very bright. You cannot control the brightness of the color. Adjusting brightness takes the bulb back to the white light mode. So, cool/warm or dim/bright setting only control the white light, and the color lights are all one brightness. This bulb does not appear to be compatible with HomeKit. You must use the Bulbrite app. You connect the app to your local wi-fi network to connect to the bulb. Setup and pairing new bulb to the app takes a minute or two, but once set up, it remembers and it works well, You can easily adjust the white light warmth and brightness, or the almost infinite array of colors from the color selection wheel. We are pretty happy with this light, just wish the color light was a little brighter.

This bulb is cool. We set it up first with a very old lamp and it didn’t work. The instructions weren’t that great. We ended up putting the bulb in a hall light fixture and it took some doing but finally figured out how to get it to sync to the phone. Once it did we were able to get it to work with the Alexa and now the light will turn on and off with phone or Alexa. Works very well.

I was so excited to get this Smart light bulb because I like to program my lights using timers and such. I thought this would be so much easier just to have an app to control this lightbulb. The quality of the bulb is excellent and I am very impressed with that. However, in very small letters on the bottom of the box it states that the bulb is not compatible with 5GHZ wifi networks. Because of this I could not get the smart part of the bulb to work. If you know that you have a wifi network that is NOT 5GHZ, then I highly recommend this bulb to you.

I own numerous Color/Temperature changing lighting devices (bulbs, strips, etc), by numerous Brands. These are very similar. The things I like about these ... the App is free and does not request intrusive access to my phone (e.g. Contacts, Photos). Only asks for access to Location (also asks for Name & Email). Compared to my other Brands, they are starting out much less expensive. I only get devices that work with Alexa. If I have to grab a phone and open an app to control simple functions, I end up not using it. These work well with Alexa on simple On/Off/Dimming, and Color ("Red"), but I can not get them to change Temperature ("Warmer / Colder") and other higher functions gets a, "doesn't support that" or "outside Temperature range". Clearly they need to increase the vocabulary. The directions do not mention it, but you have to log into your Alexa account and add the Bulbrite Solana Skill. I did not have to do Discovery, the Devices were automatically added. FWIW ... While testing these, the app does not correspond to voice commands. I will ask the light to turn Off. It will turn Off, but App will continue to show it On (unless I closed it and reopen it). I gave these 5 Star, but I would take a Star away for the voice limitations/app issues, but 95% of what I do is On/Off/Dim, and they are good at that.

These lights are great when they're setup correctly. I set this one up in about 5 minutes, including creating an account, but I'm tech-savvy. Make sure to follow the instructions correctly as written on the orange paper. After you install the app, it's very easy to setup. The only thing missing from the orange paper are the setup with Alexa or Google. After you have your phone working with the lightbulb, open the 'Me' icon at the bottom right, then select 'Integrations'. From there you will pick the assistant you want to setup. Works great with Alexa. The color options are great, too. White color temperatures are great and can match any of the cool white to warm white temps and all colors work very well. These things are great!
