Ceiling Tile Adhesive from Ceilume is formulated specifically for glue up ceiling tiles and glue on ceiling panels. Ideal as backsplash adhesive, acoustical ceiling tile adhesive and tin ceiling tile glue, this specialty ceiling adhesive works with vinyl ceiling tiles, tin ceiling tiles, mineral fiber ceiling tiles, acoustic ceiling tiles, wood fiber ceiling tiles and polystyrene ceiling tiles. Use it to glue your ceiling tiles and backsplashes tiles to sheetrock, wallboard, plywood, plaster, cement and to mineral fiber acoustic tiles. Will this hold metal tiles on a plaster ceiling
Yes, provided the plaster substrate is sound and doesn't have any large cracks or crumbling/loose plaster.
Can I use this glue to glue up drop in ceiling
Ceilume Ceiling Tile Adhesive is only suitable for installing glue-up ceiling tiles to a smooth, sound substrate. Not all drop in ceiling tiles can be glued to a ceiling. HomeDepot.com's listings for Ceilume's ceiling tiles state one of 3 installation types: Lay-In (these tiles can ONLY be installed in a suspended ceiling grid), Lay-in or Glue-up (can be glued to a ceiling or installed in a suspended ceiling grid), and Glue-Up (can ONLY be glued to a ceiling - they can not be installed in a suspended ceiling grid). How many tubes to cover 540 square feet of tile
You should be able to install 6 ceiling tiles with a single 9 oz tube of Ceilume Ceiling Tile Adhesive. 540 sq ft works out to about 135 ceiling tiles. 135 divided by 6 = 22.5 Tubes of adhesive so 4 cases will give you a little extra "just in case".
Will this work with A La Maison Styrofoam ceiling tiles?
Ceilume's Ceiling Tile Adhesive is made for use on a wide variety of materials: vinyl, mineral fiber, polyurethane and polystyrene foams. "Styrofoam" is not listed as one of the suitable materials for use with Ceilume's adhesive. Please consult with the folks at A La Maison for the proper adhesive for their styrofoam tiles.
Does it adhere to copper tiles?
Ceilume's Ceiling Tile Adhesive is not recommended for use with Copper, Tin, or any other metallic ceiling tiles. Please consult with the Pros at your local Home Depot store to find the best adhesive for use with copper tiles.
