Product Overview

Soniguard drop ceiling soundproofing insulation above your ceiling tiles will dramatically improve the sound-blocking characteristics of any suspended ceiling. If you are tired of noise coming down through your ceiling or up through the floor from the basement below and you've already got a suspended ceiling (or can install one), Soniguard acoustic thermal suspended ceiling insulation can make your drop ceiling quieter in no time. With Ceilume's revolutionary Soniguard ceiling insulation you will immediately see the difference, feel the difference and most importantly hear the difference. Unlike fiberglass insulation, with Soniguard there is no itching and no scratching, nothing but the velvety feel of the best insulation product ever. For beauty with ultimate sound blocking performance, use Soniguard in combination with mineral fiber ceiling tiles, tin ceiling tiles or the latest decorative vinyl ceiling tiles to create a modestly priced designer ceiling that both sounds great and looks terrific. Not only that, Soniguard's impressive 6.0 R-Value will significantly augment your existing ceiling tiles R-Value to help any room feel warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer - and that's good for you and for your pocketbook.
  • Soniguard is made from snow-white, thermal bonded polyester so it is dust free, itch free and fiberglass free
  • When used with Ceilume brand ceiling tiles, increases NRC up to 0.50, and STC up to 18, depending on product combination
  • Excellent for use with any brand of ceiling tile to increase your ceiling's thermal resistance by an R-value of 6!
  • Moisture and odor resistant insulating batts are 2 ft. x 2 ft. (actual size 23.75 in. x 23.75 in.) and each piece covers a 4 sq. ft. area
  • ASTM-E84 Class A fire rated
  • Odor free, moisture-resistant, does not promote mold or fungi growth (ASTM C665, C1338, C1304, G21)
  • Thermal-bonded polyester that will not lose body over time like fiberglass

We're sorry to hear that the Soniguard insulation did not meet your expectations. The Soniguard Drop Ceiling Insulation has been laboratory tested in accordance with ASTM C423. Those test results show that when used with Ceilume's Feather-Light ceiling tiles, they provide an NRC of .50. Please keep in mind that in room sound is greatly impacted by the other surfaces in the space; flooring, walls, furniture, etc. We do appreciate you giving Ceilume a try.

Thanks for your review of Ceilume's Soniguard Drop Ceiling Insulation. Noise reduction within a room is a factor of many different components: ceiling material/insulation, flooring material, wall type, and furniture all contribute to the sound within a room. While we don't know the exact composition of your room, we do know that our NRC figures come from before and after sound testing within a controlled environment. Feel free to give Ceilume a call at 888-533-1995 to discuss your specific installation.

        Beautiful but flimsy
I installed this a couple months ago in my new bathroom and love the look. However it is very flimsy. After putting the insulation on top of it I noticed bulges in the tile. Just hoping it hold and tiles don't fall out

        Very Nice
Im happy with the soniguard tikes but 1 thing... The square needs to be a little smaller so it can fit correctly into the vinyl tile. Its a little big so you either have to cut every square (and they are hard to cut) or just lay them on top, overlapping each other - so we chose the latter.
