Is there a ceiling tile recommended over a wood burning stove and surrounding area.
All of Ceilume’s ceiling tiles carry a warning stating that they cannot be installed where ceiling temperatures reach 120° or above. As such, they cannot be installed above a wood stove or other radiant heat source. Please consult with the ceiling pros at your local Home Depot store for their suggestions on a ceiling tile that can be installed above a wood stove.
Do these tiles support HVAC vents or would the thicker Oxford tiles be more appropriate?
The International Building Code requires that all lights, HVAC vents, speakers, life safety devices, etc must be supported by the ceiling grid or the structure above. Ceiling tiles should not be used to support any of those items. Check with the building pros at you local Home Depot to get a recommendation for supporting the HVAC vents in your ceiling.
Can these be used in an existing 2x4 grid?

Can these be glued to a ceiling
Ceilume's Stratford ceiling tiles can only be installed in a 1" or 15/16" suspended ceiling grid. They can't be glued to a ceiling.

Are these 0.51" thick as shown in picture
The Stratford ceiling tiles are made from a thin, rigid vinyl that is only .013" thick (about the thickness of a business card) They get their rigidity from the shape we've molded into them: a "square within a square" geometric pattern in the center and a 1/2" lip around the perimeter of the back side of the tile (the 1/2" lip is what you are seeing in the drawing, but the tile itself is not a solid piece of vinyl that is 1/2" thick). Both of those details create a tile that is flexible when handled but rigid enough to sit for years in a ceiling grid without sagging. The Stratford ceiling tiles have an NRC of .25 by themselves and and NRC of .50 when installed with Ceilume’s Soniguard Drop Ceilung Insulation.
Will these tiles support a 6 inch Halo light
The International Building Code requires that all lights, speakers, HVAC grilles, etc must be supported by the ceiling grid or the structure above. Ceiling tiles of any kind should never be used to support those items. The Home Depot has a variety of light brackets to keep you ceiling installation safe and code compliant. All ceiling tiles have the capacity to move when subjected to rapid changes in air pressure (especially if the tiles are installed in a smaller room with only one door). This is why all ceiling manufacturers offer some sort of Ceiling Hold Down Clip.
