Product Overview

Stratford Stone Ultra-Thin Feather-Light Ceiling Tiles are unlike any ceiling tile you've ever seen or felt. When you take them out of the box you'll be surprised by the minimal weight of their Ultra-Thin construction. Ceilume Stratford tiles are formed from a thin sheet of vinyl that is only 0.013 in. thick - about the thickness of a business card. But the Stratford's geometric design combined with the inherent strength of vinyl makes these tiles rigid, durable, and easy to install. The Stratford Stone Ultra-Thin Feather-Light Ceiling Tiles are not at all like the old mineral fiber tiles you're used to seeing, and that's a good thing. They don't generate dust, they're unaffected by moisture, they don't harbor mold, and they're easy to cut. Their Stone finish is refined, pure, and easy to clean. Place them in your ceiling grid and you'll be thrilled by the way the Stratford improves the look of your room.
  • Made throughout from durable 0.013 in. thick virgin vinyl material, these panels will not rust, stain, corrode or be affected by water or humidity and they resist mold, mildew and bacteria
  • Designer beauty, only better; no special tools or skills required for installation and no sheet metal cuts
  • Impact resistant ceiling panels are 2 ft. x 2 ft. (actual size 23.75 in. x 23.75 in.) and each panel covers a 4 sq. ft. area
  • ASTM-E84 Class A fire rated, IAPMO Uniform ES Evaluation Report 0310, recognized compliant with 2006, 2009, 2012, and 2015 international building code, and FDA and USDA compliant for food preparation areas
  • As a general rule, Ceilume ceiling tiles and panels will not be affected by ceiling level temperatures up to 120°F; in some installations involving halogen lights, metal heat registers, and radiant heat sources (wood stoves, kitchen ovens, etc.), localized ceiling and ceiling tile temperatures can be much higher than anticipated; please contact the manufacturer for specific advice if your installation has any of these special conditions
  • Excellent for remodeling or new construction, these elegant decorative ceiling panels trim easily with scissors or aviation snips for can light openings, etc.
  • Giving you style choices that go way beyond standard mineral fiber panels or panels, Stratford's clean relief design make it an icon in the ceiling industry
  • Light reflectance - 5.22%, NRC - 25% (50% with Soniguard)
  • Each case contains 40 individual tiles that covers 160 sq. ft.
  • Sample available upon request from manufacturer
  • Single tiles not returnable - returns only accepted as a full case of 40 tiles

Hi Doug, thanks for the kind words. We're glad to hear that your Stratford tiles look good. I've got some great news for you; ASTM testing has shown that while the Stratford tile is lightweight and flexible, they're an "order of magnitude" stronger than old school mineral fiber tiles. If you'd like to nerd out on the test details, you can find them by searching Ceilume's website for "Strength" Thanks for giving the Stratford a place in your home.

Tiles are awesome
Love the look of the new tiles, easy to cut and install. Only drawback is they are flimsy and may require additional support for your HVAC vents and lighting

Hi ASAP, we're happy to hear that you love the look of your new tiles. It's important to note that the International Building Code requires all lights, HVAC vents, speakers, etc must be supported by the ceiling grid or structure above. Ceiling tiles shouldn't be used to support anything. And while Ceilume's Stratford 2x4 tiles are flexible, they're more certainly not flimsy. Their vinyl makes them very durable; ASTM testing has proven that their "an order of magnitude more durable" than standard mineral fiber tiles. We're confident that your Stratford tiles will add beauty to your home for years to come.

Beautiful drop ceiling
Very easy to work with and the details on the tile are beautiful! I was able to trim with regular scissors and hands down the easiest thing to do in a home renovation. Changed the space completely!

We had watched the video of the guy installing and using this product. When it arrived we couldn't believe how cheaply it was made. It cost over $500 for a larger family room 20×15. Foam egg cartons are made better. Now we have to return it and look for something better. Don't waste your time or money.

Hi Bran, thank you for your candid review. We understand that the Stratford tiles are very thin; Feather-Light is right in the product name and "Vinyl panel is surprisingly thin but amazingly strong" is the first bullet point on our listing. Vinyl is of the most common construction materials in use today and recent ASTM testing reported that Ceilume's Stratford tiles are "an order of magnitude more durable than mineral fiber tiles" Foam Egg Cartons can't make that claim. When you factor in that the Stratford is made in California with materials sourced from Texas, carries a Class A Fire Rating, and are impervious to moisture so they don't sag over time, we believe that the Stratford is a bargain. We appreciate you giving them a try in your home.

Good looking ceiling tile, easy to cut to size with a scissors. The only drawback I have seen is the thinness of this product. If the homeowner is not careful and a little bit unaware of the fragility , they may find some handling problems. In my case I reused the existing ceiling tiles to act as a hold down above these new added ceiling tiles (2x4). Other than that, they suited my usage.

Hi JKBatt, thanks for sharing your thoughts on Ceilume's Stratford Ceiling Tiles. We're happy to hear that you now have a good looking ceiling and that the tiles were easy to cut. We understand that folks are concerned by the thin nature of the tiles but rest assured, the durable vinyl material is very tough despite it's flexible nature. ASTM testing has shown that the Stratford tiles are an order of magnitude more durable than standard mineral fiber tiles. And since they won't absorb humidity and sag over time, you'll have that good looking ceiling for years to come. Thanks for giving the Stratford a place in your home.

These tiles are a LOT easier to work with than other types, as they are relatively thin and very pliable. These look fantastic with black frames! They cut easily with scissors. One caveat, if you are installing puck-type LED lighting, you'll need to improvise something to strengthen behind the tile, as they are thin and will distort from the weight of even these lights.
