Q:I purchased this for a 1? electrical conduit that needed to be capped off. The cap I got measured an ID of 1.28? even though it calls out 1?. What am I missing here?

Not 1in by any means
I ordered this to go onto a 1in OD pipe. When I tried to use it, it was ridiculously big. I grabbed my caliper and measured the ID which came out to 1.28in! That’s a 28 perfect deviation. When I reached out to the manufacturer, they said the ID isn’t controlled as much as the OD and wall thickness. Well, if those 2 parameters are controlled, then the ID should be indirectly controlled as well. To be 28 perfect on the high end is bizarre. Obviously I returned it.

Hey, it's a PVC cap, what could be wrong with it? Anyway, it was 1" as stated and fit over a 1" piece of PVC. We used this, along with other parts and 5 x 7 tarp to fabricate a COVID-19 barrier to separate employees working in a warehouse. We didn't glue to ease in the dismantling of the frame. We did use self tappers to hold the fittings together because the pieces wanted to rotate and fall over. See pic.

I use 3/4 inch caps on 5 foot 3/4 pipes to make tomato poles along my fence. 22 inches of pipe is used to mount to the fence. The result is a 7 foot pole to tie my tomatoes to.
