PVC 07100 0600, Store SKU # 312940, is plain end pipe so it will require separate coupling fittings to connect with other pipes. PVC 04012B 0600, Store SKU # 390988, is a 1 ¼ in x 10 ft belled end pipe that does not require a separate coupling to connect with other pipes. A two-year study was undertaken to quantify the effects of UV radiation on the properties of PVC pipe. The study found that exposure to UV radiation results in a change in the pipe’s surface color and a reduction in impact strength. Other properties such as tensile strength (pressure rating) and modulus of elasticity (pipe stiffness) are not adversely affected. Radiant effects of sunlight can also increase pipe surface temperatures, possibly causing a piping system to exceed maximum working temperature or de-rated pressure carrying capability.
