PVC Schedule 40 fitting that is for pressure systems where temperatures will not exceed 140°F. They are highly resilient, with high-tensile and high-impact strength. PVC Schedule 40 has better sound deadening qualities than PVC Schedule 40 DWV Foam Core and ABS Foam Core. Installation requires the use of primer and solvent cement.

Answers"S x S" refers to " Slip (fitting) x Slip (fitting). I.e., not threaded. In plastic fittings this means one will be joining by gluing. In copper or brass plumbing, slip fittings (non-threaded fittings) are soldered - or, in the case of refrigerant lines, brazed. Sometimes in non-ferrous plumbing nomenclature the "S" designation is inferred to mean "sweat" or the designation "SWT" is used for the fitting end type. In ferrous piping, such slip fittings - either socket end or spigot end - would be welded.

Used several of these fittings to put "dog leg" jogs in a drain line; both to avoid a downcomer intersecting a foundation, and to steer the buried leader to an existing cistern. The fittings arrived clean and in good condition. They are manufactured to standards. I primed, glued and installed them without issue.
