Where are the self taping screws in the packaging? I have some from the support brackets but can not get them to work.

One is included in the packet with 2 other screws. You need to drill the correct size hole, as stated on the instructions and then really, really muscle it. The self tapping screws was the most difficult part of the install for me.

How much weight will they support if you used 2 on a 72" shelf? Or 4 on a 72" shelf? I would pref...

How much weight will they support if you used 2 on a 72" shelf? Or 4 on a 72" shelf? I would prefer to use just 2 brackets. The 2 outer brackets could go into studs about 60" apart.

It will depend on what they are mounted to such as drywall or paneling, also if they are mounted to studs.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I had a 58" space, 4 foot not big enough... I had a 58" space, 4 foot not big enough and 6' too long, so I bought the 6' and had HD cut it down for me.... BUT we could not cut at 58" as it was not between the slats , so looking at the photo on the box I had it cut to 54" and would put the small pull out bracket on. The small bracket is actually a long pole , not what I wanted so now it just looks like I did not measure twice/cut once.I would really like closet maid to resend me the 6' and this time I will have it cut by a more reliable source.I would guess that during the 2+ weeks I was remodeling I spent as much time in the Avon store then most... as a past owner and person who has been in retailing all of my life I would love to step into that store and do a trying session... especially for all of the young people (children) you have working?? there standing around!~! time is money and these young people are getting the wrong message about "working" I witnessed a completely dysfunctional special order/notification/ actually finding the item.

Though I wasn’t able to purchase in my local store, I ordered online & shelves were delivered quickly. I do feel that paying for shipping for items not available in store isn’t a customer friendly policy.

Looks great & tons of storage space. I placed the 72" shelf over my washer & dryer. The depth makes it easy to access items placed at the front edge of the shelf while reaching over the appliances.

This rod goes specifically with the shelving and brackets made by ClosetMaid. We chose the shelving system for our pantry/laundry room with a 6' span between 2 walls. The shelf was trimmed by 1/2 inch and attached easily to the brackets. Then it was time to install the rod. The rod consists of 2 pieces, the smaller diameter one slipping into the larger diameter half. You can adjust the length from there. There is an adaptor piece that fits over the shelf bracket where the rod is attached to. You cannot install the adaptors after the shelf is attached, so I removed the front screws holding the shelves to the bracket and installed the adaptors. (not stated on the instructions). It was easy enough, but added a little time. Next you install the rod by using the self tapping screws that are supplied with the adaptors - not the rod. Drilling the holes were easy enough, but boy did I have some issues getting the self tapping screws to take. Eventually all were installed, the rod is sturdy enough and fits nicely on the brackets. Looks good with the shelving unit.
