Review of Commercial Electric 1 in. x 108 ft. Heavy Duty Tape:
I’m a DIY’er / homeowner, not a pro electrician, so this review will come from that standpoint.
The C.E. 1” tape is wider than the standard 3/4” tape that I normally buy and there’s 108 feet on the roll so it will cover a lot of ground for a homeowner. It’s 10 mil thick, and the adhesive is good.
The tape comes wrapped in cellophane, not in any kind of plastic case.
It’s not made in the U.S., but is U/L listed and is rated to withstand 600 volts and 176 degrees Fahrenheit. Note that it’s flame retardant, not flame proof.
This is a bigger roll than I’m used to – check out the photos. The tape will fit in a pants pocket, but not in any shirt pocket that I own, and takes up extra room in my toolbox. I think this sized roll would be overkill for, say, the car glovebox or tackle box – I’ve got it stored in my “electrical” toolbox for larger jobs. It's nice that it covers a wider area with each wrap - and the length means that I won't be scouting around for another roll in the midst of a DIY job.
Works effectively, good quality, good market price – can’t ask for more than that.
