Q:Back of the box said it requires a 1-3/4" hole saw, which I purchased. Got home & read thru the instructions; there were two places where it said use a 3/4" hole saw. Online guide says 1 3/4". Is this a typo? Need to know before opening the drill bit pkg.

A:  I dont remember the size. If you open the Hole Saw Brush Plate package measure the interior circle diameter and you will have your answer.

Q:Why does everyone keep saying it has no template it clearly says use 1 3/4" hole saw

          Answer This Question

A:  Correct, no template needed. The placement is where you drill your circular hole. Note: avoid studs and wires behind drywall. I placed mind at same height as other outlets

          by|Jan 29, 2021

A:  Yes it needs no template just a 1-3/4” hole saw & drill to do the job.

          by|Dec 25, 2020

A:  Can't use a hole saw bit if you have already run a cable and can't pull it out.

A:  You don’t need a template. I just placed mine on the wall where I wanted it (facing in) and used a pencil poked though the little bristles to mark the center. Then use a 1 3/4” hole saw to drill a nice hole...it fits in perfectly but you do have to have a 1 3/4” hole saw! The directions that came with the unit are actually wrong...they say to use a 3/4” hole saw...no way would this fit though a 3/4” hole!

          by|Mar 2, 2020

A:  Hi, you are correct. This plate is specifically designed to fit into a cutout made with a 1 3/4" hole saw, as described in the instruction sheet and shown in the instructional video.

Simple, Easy Install for Cable/Antenna Wire
Lots of options out there to allow for TV antenna / cable outlets. I considered a duplex outlet (110 volt for the power on one side; low voltage on other), but decided that was going to require more effort and costs. This was super easy to install and looks nice. I have my TV mounted in front of the side-by-side standard 110 volt outlet and this mini-brush plate. So even though it looks nice, I don't see. I can pull the antenna wire out further if pull my TV out from wall, as it is mounted on a TV wall mount.

I originally purchased 10 of these to run some speaker cabling. The first six installed with no problem. On the next four, at least one of the screws would bind up on the "ear" the gets pulled against the interior or the wall, which would bend the screw, and snap it right off. Even holding it in my hand and holding the ear where it should be, it would do this. I returned those and purchased more. I think all but one behaved the same, however I did get them to work. Using a screwdriver, before placing in the wall, I would slowly turn the screw so the ear would get to just about the thickness of the drywall. Then when placed in the hole, I only had to turn it maybe one full turn to tighten enough to hold it. I'm not sure if they are cross-threaded or what, but that would be my guess. They look nice and were the best solution for my project. I believe they are also overpriced, but I couldn't find anything comparable. Also, the diameter of the hole it says to drill in the instructions is completely wrong. If I recall correctly, it says 7/8", but should be 1-7/8".

This product is shown deceptively larger in the item description image. What mattered to me was the size of the pass-through. As pictured, opening height is 7/8" and width is 3/4". I had to pass 7 sets of security camera cables (power plug and a BNC connector). I mounted my plate horizontally. The purchased set of hole saw cutters did not come with a 1-3/4" cutter. I ended up having to free hand cut this opening. Didn't feel like spending more money. The product was easy to install. Quality sturdy product.

Purchased for one of 6 wall mounted TVs being installed in church Sunday School and meeting rooms. Plate used to bring out coaxial cable from wall to connect to back of 70" TVs. Had to purchase 1-3/4" hole saw in install. Took a little more work than just drilling 1-3/4" hole. Hole had to be widened on two sides where metal wings snap out after getting inserted in wall. One wing shown in product picture, on top of plate. Wings do not fully collapse into 1-3/4" round rear section when pushing into wall. Hole needs to be slightly larger than 1-3/4" to fit easily into wall before screwing to engage wings on back side of wall.
