Commercial Electric's patented 1-Gang Split Wall Plate is used to install low voltage cables behind your HDTV, amplifier or other audio/video devices. With the split design, this cable plate can be installed around existing low voltage cables run through the wall, eliminating the need to re-pull wires keeping the opening in the wall covered. Its horizontally split design allows for easy installation and removal.

Answer This Question

A:  the opening is not fully sealed. bugs could come through. the only way to prevent this would be to seal up the opening once the cables are ran through it.

    A:  There is availability to install this cover without the box and use just the anchors.

    A:  Yes. That is what I did. Drywall anchors and it is holding perfectly and looks great.

      A:  Yes, it could work if you line up the holes for anchors accurately enough. Or use like a butterfly type anchor with some leeway( holes slightly oversized)

      A:  yes drywall anchors will work. you will need ot get some that work with 6-32 screws or find new screws that will work.

        A:  Probably not Sandy. It can accommodate a little more than 2" vertically, but less than that horizontally.

          A:  The plate comes apart so the size of the plug is not a problem.

          A:  It it split, so you pass the plug through and then close the plate around it.

            A:  It should work. However, that type of wire is not likely rated for behind the wall installation. Consider spending a little more and putting in a power bridge instead.
