The only bad thing I would say about this product is that it's difficult to lay it out completely flat, but it helps to use a piece of flat stock such as a 12" ruler. However, being black, any wrinkles aren't very noticeable. The measurement lines on the back make it very easy to cut the correct measurements and to make a straight cut with a scissors or razor. It sticks well, but not so strong as to be difficult to reposition. As I have a large kitchen the long rolls make it easier and the multi-pack made it very economical. Would this adhere to a ceiling light fixture?

As long as there's no grease or oil it should. It holds well, but not so strong as it's difficult to reposition.

Does this product leave a sticky residue after removing?

Not at all. I put it on freshly painted (but dry) cabinet shelves, and this was a concern. I was able to lift it as I worked out bubbles and creases. It didn't leave residue, not did it pull up the fresh paint. It has the right balance between stickiness and non-stickiness.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from I think it would be perfect, IF I've used many contact shelf liners in the past. Thought I would try something easy and simple. I fell in love with the texture and thought it would be wonderful when cleaning it. I would have given it the whole 5 stars for everything if it actually stuck. I vacuumed and cleaned everything with vinegar before using it. The adhesive on it doesn't really work/stick. So after using it all over the house and smoothing it out to the best I could, a few days later it bunched up and wont stay flat. Even after putting things on it to try to keep it in place and help adhere to the bottom surface. If I were you I wouldn't waste my money or time on this product. I spent hours perfecting the shelf liner everywhere and I honestly don't want to waste more time putting new stuff in. I used my old shelf liner from the same company that is about 10 years old and it worked perfectly like it normally does. Try not to get fancy stuff and stick to the thin liners; they'll actually stick and stays and is still will be easy to clean. Would have loved the black so I could see better when it got dirty with debris. Going to try to contact the company and see if they'll hook it up with a refund to replace it with some good stuff.
