Q:Is this waterproof? How would it do on a bathroom countertop?

Answer This Question

A:  Becka - The liner is waterproof. However, because of the thickness of the liner and depending on how much use the counterop will get, the long term performance may not be as good as a real countertop material. Also, the adhesive used for this liner is water soluble. Depending on how much water the countertop will be subject to might affect the adhesion. If you do decide to try the liner, the mounting surface must be clean, dry, and smooth. The overall performance of the liner as a countertop will have lots to do with the conditions of use of the countertop. Hope this helps. Thank you for your interest in CON-TACT BRAND Shelf Liner.

    A:  No, this is very thin and will frail paper. It tares and is difficult to work with.

              A:  It is 18 inches wide and 240 inches long. For the kitchen drawers that I lined I had to trim one side so that the pieces were 16 inches X 24 inches, which was the size of the bottom of the drawers. I also turned the A/C up to 80 degrees F. for two hours before lining the drawers and that seemed to work out really well. The backing is very sticky when working with it at that temperature. As a matter of fact, the drawers that I lined have stayed in place and it has been over a year. I hope that this information helps.

                  A:  The roll was 18 inches wide, I only used half of it. I do not remember what the exact amount that was on the roll. The installation was very easy and looks great.

                      Complete trash.
                      This product is a waste of time and money. The adhesive is terrible. A dollar store bandaid in the pool sticks better than this. I spent time measuring and cutting each piece to fit, only to have it shrink to 75% of it's size in two days. What a waste of time. How can they even sell a product this bad as a name brand? How did anyone give this a good review? Unbelievable.

                        Contact paper, and some other basic items I'd expect would be staples at big housewares & hardware stores, are obsolete &/or very hard to find these days. So i was pleasantly surprised when I found roles of this on sale for $11 at the end of row rarely traveled. I wish there wasn't the yellow (or any color) swirled in the marble- makes is harder to know it's clean, but I'd had Contact Paper on my list for too long so not a time to be picky- plus it was on sale. Since it's been so hard to find, and the "associates" had no clue what I was talking about, I won't be surprised to see it gone from store shelves, like so many useful items (do they even stock anymore?). Oh well, for now, I'm grateful I found it, now my old kitchen wooden drawers and cupboard shelves are nice clean wipeable smooth surfaces again- and expect they'll look nice, protect the wood, stay smooth for another ten years- good thing I bought a couple extra roles lol.
