Yes, even 100% porcelain tiles can accumulate soap scum in a shower environment. While porcelain is less porous than many other tile materials, it’s not completely resistant to buildup—especially in areas with hard water and frequent use. Regular cleaning and proper ventilation can help minimize this issue.
Thank you for your question, Kathleen. Please reach out to Pro Services at Home Depot and they should be able to assist you. They can be reached at (855) 752-3352.
Thank you for your question, Tammy. For all cleanings, it is necessary to apply a mechanical friction with a 3M white type sponge. Second, we recommend FILA brand cleaning products to be used alongside 3M sponge. If there are smudge dirt marks (i.e. caused by furniture with rubber feet), we recommend a basic detergent (such as PS87). If the dirt or stains are stubborn, we recommend acid detergents such as DETERDEK or PH ZERO. Another recommended product is the STAIN REMOVER SR95.
Thank you for your question. Corso Italia tiles can be used with floor heating systems without issue - they are non-combustible and the technical features are not affected by the heat. Corso Italia's porcelain tile collection will partner perfectly with your floor heating system because of our tiles' thermal conductivity, adding a pleasant warmth to your home.
Thank you for your question! Our Alpe Ivory tiles in 12x24 and 24x48 offer the same look and finish—the only difference is the size. Both feature a matte surface with subtle texture, giving them a natural stone-like appearance. We currently do not offer gloss tiles. The sample chip represents both sizes, so you can expect the same finish regardless of which size you choose. This is in stock and available for purchase on Home Depot’s website:https://www.homedepot.com/p/Corso-Italia-Sample-Alpe-Ivory-6-in-x-6-in-Quartzite-Stone-Look-Porcelain-Floor-and-Wall-Tile-550040000790/322753235
Thank you for your question, Brooke. We do not recommend sealing our tile. Our tiles are 100% porcelain and therefore impervious. In addition, sealing our tile could change the look of the product in your space. For all cleanings, it is necessary to apply a mechanical friction with a 3M white type sponge. Thank you for your question, Greg. We do not recommend using our indoor floor tiles underneath a firepit. Our tiles are not fireproof, and should not be installed underneath fire. Should you be referring to the front of your fireplace, then yes, our porcelain tiles are impervious to extreme conditions such as heat and cold.
Thank you for your question, Laura. The grout panel image on Home Depot's website displays three color options, with the grout colors listed at the bottom of each panel. As I am not sure which grout color you are referring to - whether the light, neutral or dark - is a direct link to the grout panel image for Alpe Ivory: https://ibb.co/D4mzybK
