A: Yes, mine are flourishing in the full sun on my deck (northern Virginia). They’ve even flowered. We have an irrigation drip line to each, so they are watered regularly.
A: Hi ThePlantLady! Yes! The snake plant can be planted outdoors! If planting directly into the ground, we recommended checking your local restrictions.
A: Yes, if you live in hardiness zones 9-11 but they need good drainage. They don’t do well with a lot of water inside or outside. They do well in pots on a porch or deck during warm weather and then when temps dip, can be brought inside.
A: Yes, you can plant it outside.
A: I am not sure. I am thinking it is an indoor potted plant, unless you live somewhere where it can have shade and a moderate temperature all year long.
A: Hi Etete! The Snake plant will enjoy the outdoors when all danger of frost has passed for your area, if you live in a cool climate. We hope this helps!
A: The first thing to say about this is, that it's a house plant and structured to grow in a stable environment. I have never heard of anyone growing them outdoors. As with the indoor consistency as to where it should be kept and therein making it the best possible environment for it to succeed, it would take a better knowledge of this plant than to ask on here.
A: I think so but only if you live in very warm climate
A: I do not know. Ask the person in their gardening dept.
A: Hi Vera! You can use a general fertilizer formulated for houseplants or potted plants. Follow the label instructions during the spring and the summer. We hope this helps.
A: Best? Miracle plant food is okay with me. If you are referring to the plant on which you posted this question, the Sansevieria plant takes little maintenance, and over watering them can kill them. I usually don't feed them until a month has passed, with a liquid soluble fertilizer. because then, I water all my plants with fertilizer...
A: I left mine in the grower's pot. They are doing fine, they may need to be replanted after awhile if they get root bound.
A: It will require replanting to another pot. It took me a while to get around to it, and the plastic pot started collapsing in time. A tip to keep from disturbing roots, instead of trying to remove root ball from pot, just cut it on alternating sides with a box cutter, this will leave soil and roots intact and will easily allow for placing into a larger pot.
A: I left it in this grower pot but then placed it into a larger decorative container '
A: You will want to move to a larger pot as the plant becomes root-bound.
A: I have green thumb and I've never had a plant died on me and especially in months. You may want to repot but be careful the type of pot. I would ask a professional. I wish Home Depot could take back my plants. Good luck in your plants.
