I purchased my combo tool kit almost 2 years ago and the 60 V circular saw DCS575 does have a rafter hook on the front of the handle. I just tried it on a 2x4 as it looked like a tight fit, but it does just fit.. To be completely sure, you could visit a Home Depot or call DeWalt to make sure they didn't change the design, even though the model number is still the same. My guess is that it's still there...

Great BUT!!!!
Customer review from dewalt.com logo
Starting with the bad. Keep in mind i don't like this drill and I'm rating it 4 stars of 5. The missing star is because it's Achilles heel. I'll talk about that first so you don't do it. NEVER EVER EVER run the drill at high load AND run the batteries dead. You can do one or the other (it's never suggested to run lithium ion dead) but not both it'll cook your drill. There's no thermal or over-current protection. The motor takes the abuse perfectly and wasn't even hot on disassembly. But the ESC can't. How do you avoid this? If you're running high load (ie 8in SDS screws in 3rd gear), the drill handles it fine (why i rate it so highly) BUT!!! As soon as the battery goes to 1 bar, grab the battery on the charger, cool the discharged battery with a vacuum or blower (it will be too hot to start charging) for about 20sec right at the terminals, place discharged battery on charger, continue working with the fully charged battery as the used one charges. I ran this drill for days driving 5-8in SDS, extreme abuse like this, and it ran perfect. Amazingly powerful and durable. But, i lent it to a coworker to do the same. He ran the first battery dead, ran the second battery dead, and the drill was dead after the second battery. To avoid killing your drill under high load, stop using the batteries as soon as they get to one bar. Now for the good. Avoid the Achilles heel and it's an amazing drill. The electronic "clutch" is AMAZING!!! the main reason this drill scored so high with me. I'm used to mechanical clutches from older drills that make the ratchet noise when they reach the torque spec of the torque setting. Driving regular screws, you can dial in the clutch to stop at the correct time. You will have to come back with the impact to touch up some of the screws but driving 8in SDS screws in 3rd gear then coming back with the 1/4in impact for a few that are between 1/8in-2in out vs burning up an impact or slowly throttling a corded drill, it's amazing and 3-4 times faster that corded or an impact. Another plus is the sheer torque this puts out. I STRONG discourage anyone from using the drill bit setting in 1st gear without the side handle. The amount of torque this drill has in 1st will snap three 1/4in shaft on a nut driver. Driving #4 Phillips screws 3-5in long, i needed length and stepped ther bit holder from 5/16in to 1/4in and snapped the 1/4in shaft. And not at the skinny part of the shaft that was on the chuck. Ther actual hex 1/4in shaft. Oops. So, learn to not run batteries below 2 bars (gets to one bar, charge it) and the drill will take as much abuse as you can throw at it. This is actually what you're supposed to do with any lithium ion/ lithium polymer batteries and Nickle Cadmium batteries. So this isn't just a Dewalt Achilles heel. But you buy such a heavy duty drill, think it can handle anything, and find this out, you'll be upset like myself. Don't make that mistake and you'll be amazed with this drill. It basically cuts the cord for drills. Picture was to find the failure point. Motor is perfect. It was the ESC (the electronics in the white caulking behind the trigger). Definitely going to rebuild this when i can get another ESC.

What a beast! I needed a hammer drill for a one-time project...installing an above ground storm shelter that required drilling 12 holes into my concrete patio. I purchased the bare tool and used one of the DeWalt 20V 5AH batteries that I already owned for my other DeWalt tools. (The batteries might be even more impressive than the drill.) The DeWalt handled that task with ease. It's small size is deceiving because it packs a massive amount of capability in a compact, light package. It runs smoothly and never bogged down despite the fact I was applying a LOT of pressure during drilling. The drill did get very hot but it never showed signs of quitting. The chuck was easy to operate and held the drill bit securely at all times. Easy to tighten and to release bits. The LED light is actually effective, too. It's actually got a switch to adjust the brightness levels and it's very bright on the highest setting. It's also located where it can be effectively used. A few of the holes had to be drilled from inside with no light. The LED light on the drill made the darkened interior a non-issue. One of the best things about this drill is it's Made in the USA! That's important to me. The drill comes with an adjustable side-handle. For my purposes the handle was pretty much useless. The handle extends too far from the drill to really assist with leverage in my opinion. I needed to be able to apply pressure closer to the drill and handle was more of a hindrance. Also, the retention ring on the handle near the drill end (that keeps your hand from sliding towards the drill) is very thin and the edge of it is quite sharp when you move your hand closer to the drill to apply downward pressure. I wound up taking the handle off. Pay attention, DeWalt...the design of your handle needs some work. This may not be a professional-grade drill for someone needing to drill holes in concrete every day of the week. But for the avid DIY'er like me, it's likely more than I really need. But the price is right and the performance is exceptional. Highly recommended.

Build Quality - sturdy, durable, not overly heavy but also not cheap-feeling in the hand. Great chuck quality, and selector switches are rugged. Brushless motor should be great for longer motor life. Performance - great performance, hammer function is a must for masonry drilling; no problems here. Light activates when in use helps see in dimly lit areas. Great Power!
Customer review from dewalt.com logo
This hammer drill has awesome power. I recently used it to put a ledger board on my house to build a deck and had to drill through brick. It made quick work of the project. Finding good drill bits is a another story when drilling through brick but the drill did its job. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Gets the job done!
Customer review from dewalt.com logo
Absolutely love this driver! I purchased mine to replace a 20 year old Makita and can’t believe I didn’t make the switch years ago. My new Dewalt cut its teeth on a fishing boat refurb project I took on and it performed flawlessly. Plenty of torque and speed for any application. Annnnnd I love the fact that the battery is interchangeable with my Dewalt weed eater and so many other tools. Dewalt all the way for me from now on! (Bonus points that the drill is compatible with K-drills for those ice fishermen and women out there.) [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Over the past year and a half I have invested close to $ 5,000 in Dewalt tools after being sold on the Flexvolt line but I am at a lost because the quality and durability of these tools, especially this Hammer Drill make it impossible to get anything done. The first Hammer Drill caught on fire after 15 minutes of concrete drilling in a 15 year old home basement and as a result I suffered severe burns to my arms and hands. The replacement Hammer Drill died December 20, 2019 after I started drilling a second hole for a custom computer case project I was planning on having completed for Christmas. The Dewalt Service center had absolutely no issues with getting me a drop shipped replacement order, but I would be afraid to even use it on my current project, let alone any others. The problem I have with DeWalt is that they provide little to no information on their website/training to store reps on the limitations of their tools when it comes to knowing whether x tool can handle x workload. There are also so many different versions of the same tools/vague descriptions on their website that its made it nothing but a nightmare for non-contractors like me who don't have access to their vendor reps or DeWalt's heavy industry tools that are not typically sold in Home Depot Stores. Milwaukee makes it extremely clear what the intended purposes of their tools are and you also have the benefit of having access to their entire line of tools at Home Depot. Had I of gone with them, I would not have a scar on my arm and I would of had the right tools to finish a post divorce project for Christmas but now I am out of luck and I am going to have to budget for another tool that can handle a hole saw.

Let me start off by saying I am a carpenter / contractor and I put this tool to use almost every single day. This hammer drill is by far the best 20 volt cordless and brushless drill I have ever used. Three different speed selections in combination with a variable speed control trigger gives you total control of the drill regardless of what material you are drilling into. The power is unimaginable for a cordless drill of this size. I highly recommend this drill .. I would also recommend investing in a 60 volt flexvolt battery for this and all your 20 volt tools.
