Do they make a impact driver that’s 3/8”
          ByDec 12, 2025
          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Hi Cindy, there aren’t any 3/8" impact drivers available, as impact drivers use a 1/4" hex collet for screw and nut driver bits. The 3/8" drive size is specifically reserved for impact wrenches that are used with sockets. Some DEWALT 3/8" impact wrench model numbers include: DCF883B, DC823KA, DWMT70775, DCF890B, and DCF883M2.

The DCF860WW1 will include (1) battery and (1) charger. The DCF860B is a bare tool and will not include a battery or charger.

They’re the same tool. The B at the end indicates that it either comes with or without something extra like a battery, and the other is a tool only.

                      My Go To driver.
My go to driver. As a BUSY DIY'er and remodeling my house, I use this tool several times a week. I just finished putting 4' sides on my 18' trailer. 10# of 2 1/2" screws and this driver didn't miss a beat, and i did it with ONE 5amh battery

LED light stuck on, mode button not working
After about four months of use, the LED light on this impact driver started malfunctioning. The light stays on constantly as soon as the battery is inserted and does not turn off. Pressing the LED brightness/mode button does not change anything. The indicator shows that the mode is switching, but the LEDs remain at the same brightness level. This appears to be a defect in the control module. Overall, very disappointing for a tool at this price point.

The DeWalt DCF860 impact driver is powerful and works as expected. When the impact is not engaged, the noise level is not bad at all.

                            Torque all Day!
I purchased this impact driver a year ago and I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I had this on my must buy list and wanted to add it to my collection. Its light weight has plenty of torque and the bright led lights add plenty of light to any project.

Best impact driver I’ve ever used. The torque is unmatched by other impacts I’ve used in the past. Would highly recommend.

This impact is one nice tool. The power it has is unbelievable for such a compact but sturdy size. I have 3 other impacts from the old 18volt model to two dcf887 that don’t have near the final power this one does. I highly recommend this great little impact tool . I found a decent deal where I got the battery and charger also.

Good For The Job at Hand
I bought this XR brushless impact driver just a few days ago. My initial experience is that it is exactly what I needed and wanted. It is extremely strong and likely lives up to the claim that it has the strongest impact driver available. So why not just give it 5 stars? This impact driver is a brute. That is what I need to disassemble my deck. I also have a Makita impact driver and a Milwaukee M-12 impact driver. I was using the Makita to disassemble the deck but it was overheating. It has a lot more finesse than the Dewalt. The Dewalt didn't even make an effort in backing out the 20 year old screws. I would never use the Dewalt for anything but construction work. Putting together furniture or anything that needs a little extra delicate approach with power, I will use the Makita. To be fair, the Milwaukee M-12 impact driver is better suited for lighter assembly and disassembly. All have their strengths and weaknesses. The Dewalt is a brute. I’m happy to have it in my arsenal.

                                  Awesome Impact Driver
Super stoked on this impact driver. I upgraded from an old 18V DC825, and the selectable power/speed and lights up front are a huge help. Not to mention nearly doubling the power output makes things much quicker and faster.
