    Answer This Question

A:  The H80B is not an emitter it is a fitting designed to connect two ¼” lines together or to connect ¼” tubing directly into ½” poly tubing. Q:I was trying to pick up drippers and the guy told me these would work for that. Is that true or do I need to go back?

A:  This piece is used to connect (or repair a hole in) the tubing. It does not "drip" as it's a steady stream, so I would recommend getting the actual dripper endpiece (they come in various gallons/hour sizes).

A:  These are the barbs to link multiple drip system (1/4”) lines. If you’re looking to link two (or more) drip lines, these are what you’d use. If you’re looking for drip hose, you’dwant to look at something like https://www.homedepot.com/p/DIG-1-4-in-in-X-100-ft-Poly-Distribution-Tubing-170-ID-X-250-OD-B38100P/204184721 or https://www.homedepot.com/p/Rain-Bird-1-4-in-x-100-ft-Distribution-Tubing-T22-100SX/202078362.

A:  The H80B is a ¼” barb connector used to connect two pieces of ¼” tubing or connect ¼” tubing to the side or top of ½” poly drip tubing. If you are looking for drip emitters, I would recommend models B221B, B222B or B224B. A:  Yes! I have been using DIG products for nearly 25 years now. Those barbs work just fine. I'm older now and need help to insert them into the hose/pipe. But I solve that by carrying a mug of hot boiled water to dip the connector tubing onto the barb and/or emitters. Have fun.

A:  In my opinion, no, they won’t be the dripper. These are made to connect 1/4 line.

Q:why is my connection using this barb to my 1/2 main line leaking? I am using a hole punch but all my connections to the 1/2 main line are leaking

                  Answer This Question

A:  leaking ¼ inch barb connection point to ½ inch poly tubing can be caused by a few factors. First you want to make sure your pressure is within 25 to 30 psi a preset pressure regulator to make sure your pressure is within recommended operating pressure. When punching the ½ inch tubing make sure not to punch at an angle so the hole does not get stretched out and cause leaking. Also, when inserting the ¼ inch barb try to avoid pushing in the barb too far into the hole to avoid stretching the tubing. In most cases any leaking from the ¼ inch barb connection point will seal on its own after a week or two of operation. We do also make a self-piercing ¼ inch insert connector model D5010 that may work better for you. If you have any further questions, please contact our technical support team at 1-800-322-9146.

I use these often when moving tubing and repairing leaks (like when mice chew through a line). They are the most common fitting I use in my 1/4" system and the 50 pack is a welcome addition to my spare parts. Tubing can be inserted on either end of these by hand. I recommend wearing gloves and doing it when the tubing is warmed in the sun. It makes it a lot easier.

these are not the same barbs i bought last year! and yes they are the Dig brand. most are leaking either a small drip to a fast drip. The ones i bought last year nerver leaked at all! Posting pic of the ones i bought last year. Gonna try replacing the bad leakers with Self Piercing 1/4 in. Insert Connector see if the clamping stops the leaks

There ok but a bit harder to push into the 1/2 in tubing than the Rain Bird brand.
