No, the Dig tubing does not fit over the Dig barb connector.

Can I use this to connect 1/2 inch poly drip tubing to 1/4 inch poly tubing?

Only if you punch a hold in the 1/2" tubing.

Do we need a clamp to hold the tube in the connector?

Nope

I received a 25-pack instead of 50-pack. Please send me another 25-pack as per order. Matt

I use these often when moving tubing and repairing leaks (like when mice chew through a line). They are the most common fitting I use in my 1/4" system and the 50 pack is a welcome addition to my spare parts. Tubing can be inserted on either end of these by hand. I recommend wearing gloves and doing it when the tubing is warmed in the sun. It makes it a lot easier.

new designed barbs leaking
these are not the same barbs i bought last year! and yes they are the Dig brand. most are leaking either a small drip to a fast drip. The ones i bought last year nerver leaked at all! Posting pic of the ones i bought last year. Gonna try replacing the bad leakers with Self Piercing 1/4 in. Insert Connector see if the clamping stops the leaks

These are a must in any drip system irrigation. I especially like the hard center which can easily be gripped with a pair of pliers while the ends are inserted into the tubing. This relieves a lot of pressure on your thumb and forefinger.

Bought these because Home Depot didn’t have Rain Bird in stock. Had to file away most of the raised burr to be able to get the 1/4” line over the hump. Was afraid they would leak with so much of the burr removed but so far they don’t. Took a ton more time than it should have. If you can’t find anything better, these work.

These worked great, snap right into the 1/2 inch supply line. I found them easier to insert into the 1/4 inch line wearing garden gloves with good grip and using needle nose pliers to hold the connector. I'm a beginner so if I can do it, you can. Someone on YouTube said this is like Legos and they were totally right.

Connector for your drip!
Allows for you to connect microtubing to your main poly tube for drip irrigation. The connector is easy to install and gives you the ability to add as many micro tubes to your irrigation line

Leaking!
I hate these barbed connectors. Every single one of these leaks where inserted into the 1/2" poly tubing. I've been using drip systems for my vegetable and container garden for years and have never experienced this in the past. What's the point of a drip system if my concrete patio is receiving more water than my vegetables.
