Product Details

Use this DURA Plastic Products 1 in. Sch. 40 PVC 90° Elbow for irrigation installation. It provides a way to connect 2-lengths of PVC pipe at a 90° angle. It is manufactured from type 1-grade 1-PVC for optimum performance.

Sch. 40 PVC requires a primer before cementing
Use to make a 90° connection between straight lengths of Sch. 40 pipe
Join by solvent welding
With stands up to 270 psi working pressure
Injection molded
Do not test or use with compressed air or gas, or compressed air or gas systems

A: This is schedule 40 so it is compatible with 3/4” schedule 40 that holds 480psi. So basically, yes.

A: Thanks John! I failed to see that. The fitting is sch 40 along with the pipe. Not sure what the difference is or why. 270 psi it is!

A: no this will not handle the pressure / i am not even sure a schedule 80 pvc would handle 450 psi/ and i am a plumber.

A: I'm a graduate Chemical Engineer and have been performing simple PVC pipe design for over 40 years. PVC schedule 40 glued pipe is rated for between 230 and 270 psig operating pressure. Although I would never condone or approve of it, I have seen 1" PVC glued pipe with an internal pressure of 500 psig on many occasions. However, please do not install either schedule 40 or schedule 80 PVC pipe with the intent of using it with high pressure fluids, and this PVC is not suitable for compressed air. Any high pressure fluid system typically is fabricated from mild or stainless steel pipe which has an operating pressure of well over 2000 psig. Lastly, schedule 80 PVC pipe in the 1/2" size is rated for over 450 psig but larger diameter pipe will not be acceptable for that service pressure.

A: emt pipe is also pvc it will work but if it is getting inspected inspectors will want the proper fitting and color on pipe

These worked very well for my DIY baby gate project. They connected very easily with no issues and were all consistent in size. They have been holding up for almost a year now with no issues. I did not even use PVC glue so that I could easily disassemble this project and turn it into a DIY soccer goal net when my kid outgrows the need for a baby gate. This product met my expectations.
