Q:Can this fitting be used to screw onto a copper fitting? Will be used in a connection to my lawn sprinkler anti-syphon valve. I live in an area where my water pressure never gets above 30 psi (normally runs at 25 psi) and the city told they will not raise the city pressure because of the fear of city pipes breaking. Since one side of this adapters requires a PVC glue, I think it will make it stronger and lessens the possibility of the copper pipe stretching it and I understand that it is wise to use an ample amount of tape on the thread side. I know there are copper to PVC adapters but the price is 7 or 8 times what this part cost and I need 10 adapters? Thank you for any recommendations.

A:  I don't think so. Spend the extra money and do it right the first time. You will have less headaches!

Q:These won't thread around my hose bib. I bought 3 and none work. Which 3/4 female adapter will fit on a hose bib?

Answer This Question

A:  If you’re trying to attach to the hose end they’re not compatible.

by|Jul 13, 2020

A:  That's strange. All the PVC pieces I have purchased over the years have regular pipe thread and work with all the 3/4" pipe threads. I did not know that PVC had different threads.

    Answer This Question

    A:  No, need CPVC fitting

    by|May 5, 2023

A:  No. PVC is for cold water only. CPVC should be used for hot water applications, but is suitable for hot and cold water use.

      by|May 5, 2023

A:  Not sure I understand your question, if your asking can you user it to attach to a water heater I believe the answer would be NO. I would use a brass to PVC conversion connector which are readily available. That said I am not an expert on this subject so I would validate with others.

        by|May 5, 2023

A:  Yes, this fitting can be used on a hot water line.

          by|May 5, 2023

A:  Check heat rating(usual sch 40 is only 120°/160° at 60lbs/40lbs pressure)as well as local ordinance/building codes. Usual practice is copper or braided first 6 feet from outlet, and last 3 feet on supply, atleast in most locations in Washington state.

A:  Wrong threads if the adapter in picture is one in question... hose end will need to be male hose barb for typical hose hookup, male hose barb for reverse hookup, not female pipe thread nor sae adapter

                    Excellent quality and perfect fit.
You cannot complain about the quality or performance of these PVC Female Adapters. Fit is excellent on the slip-on side and the threaded side worked perfectly. Always great to have some extras on hand for the sprinkler repairs. Remember that PVC is measured based on the inside diameter to take a quick measurement of your system before heading down to make sure you get the right sizes!
