Does this diverter completely stop the water flow to the hand wand or shower head when the lever is set to use only the opposite single output and not continuously drip?

Mine has no leakage between the options offered unless you chose the option for both.

Is it normal my pressure is reduced?

I use a High Sierra showerhead and once attached to this diverter, the pressure is GREATLY reduced while the the handheld pressure seems fine. Can this be changed? Is it just the nature of the diverters function?

it is not normal. I have full pressure even when I have both shower heads in use.

Is the item made of metal, under the chrome?

I'm looking for a durable diverter. I don't want a chrome plated plastic item.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a simple device and works perfectly. I got... It's a simple device and works perfectly. I got it to replace a cheap plastic valve my Mom got for her apartment. She shouldn't have any more problems. The luster of the thick chrome plating looks much better than the original device.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Has Flow Restrictor Holes This is attractive and beats plastic valves, but it has two small, about 3/16ths, holes restricting the flow into both your shower head and hand held. Too little water flows for my needs as I have low water pressure. So I'm returning it. I thought about drilling to enlarge the holes but good chance of damaging it. Also, I can see a plastic restrictor hole, the same size, inside of the shower head side under the brass hole. So drilling into the brass and plastic part might make the 3 way lever inoperable. Certain common plastic diverter valves don't have these small, restrictor holes. These will work better. Just be cautious when tightening plastic nut onto shower arm. Use plenty of joint tape and tighten slowly with water on just until leakage stops. Also, get shower head washers that have larger inside holes. The ones with smaller diameter further restricts flow. The darn government is intruding in multiple ways. I don't know how to calculate the physics of water volume/pressure, but it seems to me that increasing the number of restrictors in your set up will further reduce the water volume flow. Keep looking around and try to find heads that have removeable plastic restrictors. Bottom line, plastic valve is inferior but easier to modify for a more satisfying shower experience.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is an excellent diverter! I added this diverter to my Delta 3-Spray 2.0 gpm Shower-Mount Handshower in Chrome, Model # 54471-20-BG, Internet # 203124825. So glad I did. This is the best quality diverter that I've ever used. I'm very happy with this product and highly recommend it for all showers.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not all stainless This product functions alright but it is not all stainless. For the price I thought I would be getting stainless. The threaded area is stainless and the rest is plastic. The description is deceiving since I ordered it online. It looks fine with shower head and does not seem to make a difference with water pressure. Unfortunately, in new york the "shower heads" are all now made to conserve water and they give lousy pressure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lever and handheld shower hose holder are super. The lever control on this device makes going from installed shower head to handheld shower easy. I am somewhat disabled and this lever is the anwer. Other devices with pull-push buttons are too hard to use, but the lever is a breeze.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It attached easily to shower arm behind the shower head,... It attached easily to shower arm behind the shower head, fits and supports my Delta hand held shower perfectly. At 5'3", I can reach the controller lever, which is 76" above the tub. Finish matches my other Delta chrome fixtures.
