I originally asked the question. All is plumb. It was installed properly. After more research, we found this video which should be very helpful to others that purchased the door: https://m.youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=YkWApcCphrg I have to agree with the engineer’s answer. Do not over open the door, which is easily done. I would not purchase this door again.
The top part of the glass door is only a few inches shorter than the bottom portion. If you're concerned of any water splashing - this won't happen with a rain shower head.
No, there is a plastic/rubberized sweep at the bottom of the door.
I think it is important to use the support bar. You need good strength in case someone leans against the shower door stationary piece. There are a lot of forces at play here and you need all the support you can get.
Just a little over 90° maybe like 110°
I have installed about 6 of them in showers. You can install it on a tub with the proper sealant to form a firm bond with the tub at the base.
Yes, I did the install this way on mine.
Yes, the door is suitable for that installation.
Yes, the door is reversible and the specifications verify that.
Yes. The pan does not matter as long as there is a flat edge where the stationary glass support channel can be glued onto. Also the pan must be at least longer than the length of the door, approx 45 inches.
