Can I use a single Threshold base pan? Thx
For the French Corner shower enclosure, you must use a double threshold shower base. Single threshold shower bases are for alcove installation only. Using a single threshold base for a base that requires a double threshold base will void the warranties on all DreamLine products (base and/or glass enclosure) and will likely result in serious water damage to your home. Please only use the appropriate shower base for your application which will be a double threshold shower base for the French Corner shower enclosure. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!
Does it come with base
This product listing does not include a shower base, but this model will fit the 42x42" DreamLine SlimLine double threshold (corner) shower base. Please note that the shower base must be slightly larger than the glass enclosure and this is so the glass enclosure will fit up onto the curbs of the base. Thank you for your interest in DreamLine!
What size drill bit is needed for installation over tile?
This will depend on if you are going to be fastening to studs behind the tile or not. If you do not have a stud present, you will need to use a 5/16" drill bit and the provided 5/16" wall anchors. If you do have a stud present, you will just drill a 1/4" hole in the tile, and stop when you get to the studs. There?s a question asking if this can be installed on tile. Answer No. However, the Home Depot photo shows tile on the two wall surrounds & the inside shower floor. Can the walls be tile? Dream Line acrylic pan sold separately. Please clarify. Thank you.
We apologize for any confusion, but you absolutely can tile your walls and you can even use a DreamLine shower base if you want to tile your walls. The matching shower base for this enclosure will actually be slightly larger than the dimensions of the glass because the glass has to fit up onto the curbs of the base. You will want to pair this with the 42" x 42" SlimLine double threshold shower base. The SlimLine shower base gets installed to studs, then you put up 1/2" backer board, and then you can finish your walls however you like and this would include the option to tile the walls. Can I get this shower in 36?x48??
Unfortunately, the French Corner is not available in a 36" x 48" configuration. It is only available in a square configuration in 2 sizes -(34-1/2" x 34-1/2" and 40-1/2" x 40-1/2") and this model cannot be customized in any way.
