is thin set needed to set this pan (dreamline slim )

The base is designed to sit on a level, solid subfloor, however using a thin set or mortar bed underneath helps ensure full support, eliminates voids, and reduces the chance of flexing over time. While you can install it directly on a properly prepared floor, adding a mortar base provides a more stable and long-lasting installation.

The DreamLine SlimLine shower base is made from a high-gloss acrylic material that is reinforced with fiberglass (and often an ABS backing). In simple terms, it’s a plastic-based composite base, not porcelain or solid stone. I need a 42" x 32" pan with a Dual threshold. Is there any way to convert this single threshold model to that configuration? The dual threshold size doesn't seem to be available.
