Is the drain hole really 15" from the back alcove wall from center? Meaning it is 19" from center to the entry way to total 34"?
The drain location for this shower base is set at 15" x 24" as it is shown in the technical drawings. The technical drawings are in the photo slideshow directly to the left of the main product picture and they are 100% accurate. For center drain shower bases, the drain will be centered across the width of the base, but not necessarily the depth. Will the (( DreamLine SlimLine 48 in. x 34 in. Single Threshold Alcove Shower Pan Base in White with Center Drain )) work with the (( DreamLine QWALL-VS 54 in. W x 76 in. H x 41.5 in. D 4-Piece Glue-Up Acrylic Alcove Shower Backwalls in White ))
The QWALL-VS acrylic walls are a trim-to-fit wall system that gets glued to backer board. The 54" QWALL-VS model size will fit, but you will need to trim the walls much more for this model size than you would if you got the 44-48" QWALL-VS model size (model # SHBW-1548760-00). The 48" single threshold SlimLine shower bases are designed to be paired with the 44-48" QWALL-VS (model # SHBW-1548760-00), but you could technically use the 54" wall size if you wanted to (bearing in mind that you will need to cut more off the wall panels to make them fit before installing them). Can I install tile over this?
Unfortunately, no - you cannot tile over any of the surfaces of the SlimLine acrylic shower base as doing this will completely destroy the shower base and make it completely unusable. Attempting to tile over the SlimLine acrylic shower base will also completely and immediately void the warranty on the product. Once you install the base to studs and hang backer board, you can tile your walls, but the curbs and standing area of the base cannot have any tile applied to the surface and doing this will definitely destroy the base. What is the width of the threshold?

Can somebody confirm which dimension is which it would be helpful if the question is answered with a drawing so there’s no miscommunication. I need the side that is open to be 34 inches.
The threshold for this shower base is on the 42" side. If you look to the left of the main product picture, you will see a photo slideshow. The technical drawing for this base is the 2nd photo in the slideshow. The threshold you will step over is 42", the back of the base is 42", and the 2 sides of the base are 34". Is there any other non-tile option to use for the shower surround besides the DreamLine Surround that screws into the wall? I'm worried about it leaking and having future water damage. Can a Delta Surround be used? Or another glue up Surround?
The QWALL-VS backwalls are the only compatible backwalls that we offer to match with this base. They are not a direct-to-stud (screw into the wall) installation - they must be glued to backer board. DreamLine does not offer any sort of direct-to-stud wall systems. All of our shower walls must be trimmed to fit the opening, then glued to backer board. We do not test our products with products made by other manufacturers, so unfortunately, we cannot guarantee that our shower base will be compatible with any products made by other manufacturers. For all of our SlimLine shower bases, the dimensions we provide are the rough-in dimensions that you will need to frame out. In other words, the stated dimensions for our SlimLine shower bases are the dimensions "to the studs". For example, the 42x34" base will require your framing dimensions to be 42" x 34", the 48x34" will require your framing dimensions to be 48" x 34", etc. If you are looking for the dimensions for the drain location, please review the technical drawings for the shower base which can be found in the smaller photo tiles in the photo slideshow to the left of the main product picture. Do you recommend or is it ok for this shower pan if it is also secured to the wall studs with screws or do you only recommend the mortar?
Please do not fasten the tile flanges of the DreamLine SlimLine shower base to the studs as doing this will completely void the warranty on the shower base. The DreamLine SlimLine shower bases must be installed directly up against studs in a bed of sand-mix mortar. Drilling into the tiling flanges and fastening them with screws will most likely result in damage to the base which would not be covered under the warranty. To maintain the warranty on the shower base and to avoid cracking any part of the shower base, please install it exactly the way the manual instructs.
