Q:Does the eco flo 3/4 hp submersible pump need a stand? Is it has legs on the bottom.
by|Jan 14, 2024
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Michael, this pump does not need a stand, many people will place their sump pump on a cinder block to stop silt and debris that collect in the bottom of the basin from going into the pump. Best regards EcoFlo customer service.

Q:Why is it called the wide angle switch? "Wide angle" is where I don't understand. Other tethered float sump pumps don't use "wide angle."
      by|Jan 17, 2022

      Answer This Question

A:  AnnWu, thank you for your question. "Wide-Angle" and "Tethered" are interchangeable. They are called wild-angle because the ball, at the end of the cord, raises up at quite a large angle compared to a vertical float switch, which goes straight up and down. If you have any other questions, please feel free to contact our customer service and we can assist you. You can reach us at 844-883-1872. Regards, Everbilt Customer Service

This is a very solid, durable, well built sump pump!! The pump comes with an adapter that can be used for the different sized pipes that might be used for installation. There is a nice handle on the top of the pump that is great for lowering the pump into the sump pit. The vertical switch is ideal for my preference!! Unlike tethered switches, the vertical switch remains in one vertical location that gives me the peace of mind that it won't get held up on the side of the pit! I would strongly recommend!!

This is a very solid & well built sump pump. The pump is built with cast iron materials and has a very heavy duty feel for s smaller pump. The pump has a nice solid heavy handle on top for placing it in the sump pit. The float switch is located on the side and mounted in a such a way that you don't have to worry about the discharge pipe interfering with the function of the switch. This is a great sump pump & I would strongly recommend!!

ECO-FLO Cast iron Submersible Sump Pump I selected this this sump pump due to its cast iron construction, versus any of the aluminum ones on the market. The cast iron not only gives it some weight, but gives you the feeling of robustness and dependability that I can rely on while on vacation during the raining season when our old basement has been known to flood. The ECO-FLO unit is rated at 1/3 Horse Power and features a 3,300 gallons per hour output and a vertical lift capability of 31 feet. However, the flow rate chart provided states that with my lift requirement of 10-feet, the flow will be just 2,700 gallons per minute. That’s all a lot more than we need, but insurance against the unexpected can’t be too overdone in my opinion. For your reference, at 15-feet, flow is 2,220 GPH, and at 20-feet, flow is 1,800 GPH. The power cord is 8 feet long. One needs to obtain a 1-1/2” FNPT male threaded discharge adapter in order to hook it to your discharge line system. I found that the PVC adapter I purchased would not easily begin threading into the cast iron housing due to a dried glob of paint on the cast iron female threads. So I picked off the paint glob with a knifepoint and then used a stainless steel brush to clean out any other dried paint in the pump threads (see photo). After that the adapter threaded in ok, but was getting stiff after a few turns. So I applied some Teflon impregnated thread sealant to both lubricate and seal the connection. This allowed the adapter to screw in sufficiently and tighten firmly (see other photo). My sump basin is just 18 inches in diameter and this is the stated minimum for this sump pump. Also stated is that the pump will handle solids of ½- inch size, but I keep a screen over my basin to prevent such debris from entering the sump.

We have a good functioning french drain system in our home, a one-half horse sump pump handle our water pumping needs easily. These pumps seem to last us about five years. We selected the ECO-FLO 1/2 HP Sump Pump because it is built with an anodized aluminum motor housing for efficient motor cooling, hoping for a longer life on this unit. The pump comes with the tethered float and requires an 18 in. minimum diameter wide sump basin which we already have. This motor is built with thermal overload protection also lengthening it life. The pump has a 1 year limited warranty. Semi-open thermoplastic impeller passes 3/8 in. solids. Corrosion resistant thermoplastic motor cover and valve. Continuous duty, efficient 115-Volt PSC (permanent split capacitor). Strong motor runs quietly.

Stopped working 2 years and 1 month old
I normally don't wright reviews but when a product stops working just outside it's warranty it makes me question the company. This sump worked great for 2 years and 1 month and it's a heavy cast iron sump pump. My sump pump rusted at the seal and water got into the motor.

Jones, thank you for your review. We are sorry to hear that your pump stopped working. Does the motor still work but the float switch is what is giving you issues? Or is the motor not turning on at all? Everyone uses their pump differently so unfortunately we can not determine how long your pump will last. If it is the float switch that is giving you issues, we would be happy to get you a new switch and get your pump back to working condition. You can reach our customer service at 877-326-3561. This sump pump was HORRIBLE! The float was being held in place by a flimsy magnet and whenever the water in the pit went down the magnet would release tans the float would drop into the pit.
