I just purchased two of the Model # PTH0943. I realize I have 2" x 3" downspouts. Will the diverter with this model work or do I need to order two smaller diverters?
How do I stop the water from coming into the barrel in the winter? I don't see any moving parts to activate the diverter system.
When the barrel is full, the diverter system automatically stops diverting water into the barrel. The water then bypasses the barrel and continues down the downspout as usual. For winter, the included instructions describe how to disconnect the diverter and allow all water to flow through the downspout.

We have seen them in YouTube videos on their sides so we don't know why you couldn't do so. You need proper support to help the barrels stay in shape.
