Product Overview

Circuit breakers protect the wires in your home from overheating (referred to as an overload) and fault currents (referred to as short circuits). The Eaton Cutler-Hammer Quadplex or Quad type Circuit Breaker is designed to create (4) circuits in (2) spaces. This allows for 240-Volt circuits. The BQC style breaker has a common trip as well as a rejection tab feature. These breakers are designed for use in BR type load centers and should be installed only in panel positions that have notched bus stabs that accommodate the rejection clip. Also, BQC circuit breakers are UL approved genuine replacement breakers for load centers made by Westinghouse, Challenger, and Bryant.

Worked fine and correctly. Add a second 240v circuit in space of one breaker. This breaker was shipped in the tripped condition, with the levers in the center of the travel, probably from being tested in the factory. As with most breakers in the tripped position, the lever must be moved to the full off position first and then on to reset. It takes a little more force to do this, slightly more than normal switching on / off of the breaker. With the linkages between poles having some play in them, the levers on both poles need to be pushed to the full off position. Pushing only one side may not push the opposite pole fully enough to reset, especially on the outer pair.

Wish I had an alternative-VERY poor quality
Ordered two breakers because the last time I ordered these one was faulty and I thought I'd be prepared with an extra. What a surprise that both of the breakers were faulty (wouldn't reset) so now I have to order more and then make extra trips back to return the faulty ones. Oh, and the one I was replacing---less than a year old. Eaton really needs to take a serious look at the quality of the items they're manufacturing. If only one in five of my recent breakers purchases actually work when they're installed, there's some real issues with the manufacturing process.

Defective
Defective when received. One of the 4 breakers in this unit would not work. Very disappointing. Such a waste of everyone’s time and money to sell and ship untested product
