Q:I am installing an electric vehicle charging station that will draw 48 amps for up to 2 1/2 hours, using UF-B 6/3 cable. Mfr calls for 60 amp dedicated breaker. Installing in Cutler-Hammer box that uses type BR. Will this breaker work?

Received a used, defective breaker (doesn't reset)
Ordered it online; came as shown in picture (without being in a plastic casing). Looks worse than my 22+ yrs old other breakers in the panel. The switch does not reset.
Horrible experience. Home Depot have deteriorated in the last few yrs, can not trust them anymore. Out of 5 purchases in the last couple yrs from HD, 4 have been returned due to issues created by HD (repacked/resold returned item, allow electric parts to become compromised and still sell them, etc)

Lacks hole for hold down screw
All of the 2-pole breakers at my store lack the hole for the hold down screw. I am trying to use the Eaton BREQS125 hold down screw, the pictures on the site show the breakers with the hole, the model number and SKU match, but there is no hole in any of the breakers.Either Eaton or HomeDepot has swapped out the model without changing the information/picture. I had to order a breaker online in order to install the panel correctly.

To have a tapped hole for the hold down screw, you will need to order BR220B. The "B" suffix indicates that the factory made the hole for the hold down. Feel free to call 877-386-2273 opt 2, 3, 1 if you have any more questions. Regards, Eaton

Replaced After 4 Months
This lasted 4 months before it melted/caught fire. Ironically, the breaker never tripped.

Installed this product by a certified Electrician in August of 2017. I also had it inspected by the country to make sure everything was done by code. The breaker is hooked up from the main panel and goes to my garage in a sub panel where its broken in two 50Amp, each for two EV chargers (40A and 32A). One day, I happened to go in the basement and it smelled like something was burning like rotten fish. Tracked the smell to the circuit breaker where the 100 amp was warm and I could smell the burning. I immediately turned it off.
Luckily I was home that day or else my house would've been in flames. The breaker never tripped.
