Asked by Rob April 1, 2021

Hi Rob. Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot. We recommend visiting your local store or consulting with an electrician. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future.

Can I upgrade this disconnect to 60amps with a different gfi breaker

Asked by Kieran March 29, 2021

Hello, unfortunately you cannot upgrade this device. You can only use the 50A GFCI breaker or lower. Regards, Eaton

There is no power to Circuit Spa Panel. The main breaker for this unit was not tripped but reset ...

Asked by Maureen April 12, 2020

Turn both breakers all the way off the main to Spa panel and Spa breaker itself, then on. If not resolved one of those breakers most likely gone bad.

Is this unit compatible with AL wire?

Asked by JackofAllTrades August 26, 2018

This is compatible with spa wires which comes in 3-wire, 240 Vac, or 4-wire, 120/240 Vac configurations.

Asked by Ted August 25, 2017

Hello Ted, Thank you for your question. If the GFCI breaker failed you may take it a local Home Depot store and exchange it for a replacement breaker. The Home Depot store associate will return the exchanged breaker to Eaton. The BR breakers have a 10 year warranty. The old breakers without self test are no longer available. Regards, Eaton

Why is there no pigtail from the breaker

Asked by Helphottub July 29, 2017

There is rarely, if ever, a pigtail from a breaker box. Breakers, as well as most hot tubs, are "hard wired", especially if they require 220V. All you need is a few feet of wire from HD, slipping one end into the breaker holes and tightening the screws and similarly on the tub terminal block (about a 5 minute job once you have the material and the box mounted). I slid my wire through some flex "rubber" conduit between the tub and box (code probably requires that); it was relatively easy. Conversely, some TUBS may have pigtails, but in that case there would probably be a male plug on the end, so to accommodate it you'd need to "hard wire" a female outlet below or near the breaker box to plug into (another pigtail on the box wouldn't be appropriate). Hope this helps. Enjoy your tub.

Do you need to run a neutral?

Asked by Codyjay4200 February 28, 2017

Absolutely. This is a GFCI box to prevent electrocution if you touch the wrong thing with wet feet, or if there's a fault in the tub. It's mandatory for tubs by most "codes" and requires both a neutral and an independent ground to make it work. Thus, if you're doing 220V, you'll need 4 wires (3 for 110V). Check the instructions carefully as you don't connect the neutral and the ground to the same terminal.

Is this panel rated Class A (csa listed ), 120/240 volts, GFIC ?

Asked by tom August 27, 2016

Hello Tom, While this panel is UL listed, it is not CSA listed. Eaton Canada makes a different set of loadcenters and spa panels for use in Canada. For further assistance with picking a CSA listed panel, please contact our technical support team at 877-932-9322 option 3. Regards, Eaton

I want this just for the breaker. Is it possible to take the breaker out?

Asked by Sg June 24, 2016

Yes, very easily. You simply pull the bottom end out then pull down to unhook the tab in the back and it's out.

Spend money for a better breaker
Bought this breaker 2 weeks ago. Fired my hot tub up. After 10 mins with both jets on the breaker tripped.. I researched and checked the wiring several time and all the electrical was perfect.. So I brought in the spa company. 1.5 hr in labor to have him tell me it trips when nothing is hooked up.. So I went and got another breaker.. so far this one is working.. Thankful it didn't get too cold a freeze it up and damage it all..

Extremely poor customer service at Eaton!
After installing this item it was found to have a bad breaker in it. When I called Eaton, they were extremely rude, unprofessional, and no help. I was told... what do you want from me? Go exchange it where you bought it. I would do that if they had one! Grrr

Response from EatonJun 17, 2020
Hello Patrick, for our breakers we have warranty policies that are based around time frames. For CH breakers we have lifetime warranties, and for BR its a 10 year warranty. Since you have a BR, starting from purchasing the product, and then 10 years down the road, if your breaker becomes faulty within our policy, you can go back to the place of purchase and do a one-for-one exchange. The distributor is the one that has to work with our Eaton return team. If you have any further questions, feel free to contact our technical support team at 877-386-2273, Opt 2, Opt 3, Opt 1. Regards, Eaton. EatonCircuitProtection

I had a hard time finding the circuit breaker...
I had a hard time finding the circuit breaker for my spa, so I bought the box to get the breaker, The breaker seems to last only 2 years then needs to be replaced, would be better if the contacts were made of copper, I am thinking of changing the breaker and box to something more reliable.
