Questions & Answers

Is the lightbulb rechargeable?
ByAug 13, 2026

No, this specific lightbulb is not rechargeable. WHAT WATTAGE (60WATT LED) IS USED WHEN NET CONNECTED TO DIMMER SWITCH?
    ByDec 3, 2025
    1 Answer |
    Answer This Question

Hello, the “60-Watt Equivalent” label refers to the brightness of the bulb, not the actual power it uses. This LED bulb typically consumes about 8–10 watts at full brightness. When the bulb is connected to a dimmer switch, the actual wattage decreases as you dim the light. So, at lower dimmer settings, the bulb will use even less electricity than its full rated wattage.

Is there a reason these bulbs cannot last longer than 6 months?
        ByJul 31, 2025
        1 Answer |
        Answer This Question

There can be several factors that affect the lifespan of an LED bulb, including the type of fixture, power conditions, and usage environment. While it can’t determine the exact cause without more details, please note that this model bulb is covered under warranty. For a prompt resolution, we recommend contacting Home Depot customer service or visiting your local store for assistance with a replacement or refund.

I replaced my current LED bulbs (2700k 60w frosted glass) with this 3000k 60w glass version because I wanted brighter lights and these new ones are flickering, which was not an issue with my old bulbs. Is this box bad?

          1 Answer |
          Answer This Question

Flickering in LED bulbs is usually solved by upgrading to a compatible LED rated dimmer switch if you haven’t already. Or you can try adjusting the internal setting on your current switch to stop the flickering. Please also make sure you are not exceeding the max wattage allotted to the switch since you mentioned you just upgraded to brighter bulbs. If you are unable to resolve the flickering, try testing the bulbs in a lamp. If the bulb flickers, then it can be returned or exchanged. If it does not flicker when installed in the lamp, then it’s likely the switch is the root cause of the problem. Hope this helps!

                  Horrible lifespan!
These bulbs have a terrible life span. I changed a few rings to these about 2 years ago. I have changed at least 100% of them over that time. I have kept using them so they all match, but they are too expensive to keep using. Not a good lifespan for an LED.

                    Great, But Do Not Last!
Lasted less than 2 weeks! Loved this light bulb at first. Great, true white color and very bright… which is hard to find. Supposed to last 13 years. Installed 6 of these in two vanity light fixtures. Within 2 weeks, 2 of them quit. Tried moving to different fixtures, but they are dead. Would have gladly paid the high price, if they had lasted as long as they claim. What a waste.

One was out in about 6 months, 2 more in a year
These aren’t returnable to the store, so am just now contacting via email as mentioned in the question above. If they would truly last 13 years, that would be great. We bought another box after one went out, but 2 more is really annoying. The new box has a different shaped filament, so we’ll see how they do.

                        Latest 6 months
I bought these bulbs in June. It’s now December and they all started flickering within a day of each other. This is not even close to the 13 YEARS they are supposed to last. I can’t take them back for the warranty coverage, because who keeps a receipt for light bulbs from 6 months ago? Not me.

                          Lasted just a few months
Within a couple months, the individual filaments started blinking on and off in a random pattern. These bulbs were used in a variety of indoor situations and not on a dimmer. I've had incandescent bulbs last far longer. I have now resolved to keep all my receipts for LED bulbs because they aren't cheap, especially if they don't last anywhere near the 12 yrs (as advertised) or even the 5 yrs (as warrantied).

Bulb exploded when turning on then started smoking
Initially not impressed since light flickered (not on a dimmer) and color quality was poor, now really turned off after the glass separated from the base and shattered and diodes started smoking.

                              Dangerous product
The Bulb came away from base and melted on the filament 10 minutes after it was newly installed. 6 weeks later another bulb on a different light fixture went out. When I went to change it, the glass came away from the base in my hand. These bubs are expensive and unsafe. A fire could have started in the light fixture. I am replacing them all with another brand and returning them all to the store.

                                Bulb broke nearly immediately
Bought these because they were the only 60w 800 lumen 2700k wet-rated LED bulbs on the shelf at my Home Depot. Good amount of light, seemed to work fine in my bathroom fixture. Within three hours of use one had started flickering. I removed the bulb from the socket to find one of the yellow/orange filament parts had exploded within the bulb, leaving behind condensation and filament shards. Will be returning these and getting a different brand that doesn't fail within a few hours.

The hunt continues for LEDs that actually last
I bought these bulbs to go into a entryway chandelier that's up high and a pain to get to. These bulbs claim they last 13 years are are suitable for enclosed fixtures. Of the 10 bulbs I've put in, 6 have failed in the past year.

I like them so far. We put 5 in and they are very bright. I like bright. If you don’t like bright don’t get day light.
