Q:Are these steel brackets able to be used outside in a covered porch for a kitchen slide through without get rusty in a humid climate? Unfinished usually rusts quickly outside?

A:  Thank you for your interest in our product. These items are made from real, solid steel so if left unfinished and installed in an exterior application it is susceptible to some rusting. That said, there are paints or clear finish coats that can be added to the product on site for added protection against rusting.

As there are so many varying installation surfaces (masonry, wood, ect) and applications (mantels, countertops, granite, ect) there is not a set number they are rated for, as it varies by application.           Used for a Mailbox, Which has been hit since Install!
          Back in 2016, I decided to replace my mailbox. I ended up cementing a 6x6 post into the ground and installing a "faux" stone cover over the post to give it an upscale feel. Fast Forward to 2020 and my mailbox gets hit by an oncoming car which did not stop. The bracket that came with the mailbox post was destroyed. It was falling apart, so I didnt feel bad about finding something to replace it. I went to Home Depot's website and found this Ekena Millwork Bracket, which looked like it would work perfectly with my setup. I ordered it, had it delivered to the store. When I went to pick it up, I went to the Hardware Aisle and picked up some 1/4" x 3" Galvanized Lag Screws for my post in addition to 1/4" Flat Washers in order to mount to my post. I got everything home, drilled new holes in the fascia of the stone cover, and mounted this new bracket. I attached my old mailbox and a new address applique to the top and it was good as new. I siliconed the bracket to the stone to fill in gaps. Today, 2/29/2020, A Chevy/Cadillac SUV hit my mailbox AGAIN! I found pieces of their mirror in my yard, but the bracket held up well. To fix it this time, all I had to do was tighten the lag bolts back down. The mailbox remains fully functional, even after todays hit. This bracket is the real deal and I am glad I purchased it!

            Very nice sturdy brackets. Great for my need to mount a free floating counter to my wall. The metal surfaces were much rougher than I expected - I had to be careful when handling with bare hands to avoid getting cuts. It appears the manufacturer used a very course wire grinder on the surfaces to give a brushed appearance. Brackets are definitely brushed, look good, but are sharp to the hands (or knees that come under counter)
